Oh, where to start with this one. Up for sale is my TBL Prototype #1. This game was the first ever full art package TBL game made. This was assembled in the Netherlands by the Dutch Pinball Team and ARA. Once complete, this game was shipped to me here in the United States (Chicago) along with #2 and #3. These 3 games completed their final assembly in my living room just before Expo 2014. The 3 games stayed together for a while until #2 and #3 parted ways with me. I remained the owner of #1 and it was in my possession since it was shipped here. I have brought this game to many shows and events in the Midwest area, and even to Modern Pinball in New York to share it.

The game looks and plays fantastic and has all the original prototype parts in place. Everything functions on it except for 1 of the JESUS LEDs. I have not really investigated it, but I think the LED may have died.

The Cool Stuff:
- Has the original unapproved playfield art, with the weed leaf, the gun, the Kahlua logo, etc.
- Has the prototype software with the original licensed music and other assets
- 3D printed and hand polished launch button resembling a bowling ball
- Bowling alley with individually controlled pins
- I have some extra prototype parts I will include with the machine
- Comes with the original prototype rug, but it is looking old, but still has its sentimental value

The Not So Cools Stuff:
- 1 of the JESUS insert LEDs is dead
- There is a tiny bit of wear by the scoop
- This will not run the production code
- Game is out of warranty
- There are a couple little bumps in the cabinet decals, but nothing major
- There is no playfield support brace, so you need to use a piece of wood that I have kept with the machine since 2014 to hold the playfield in an upright position

The game is currently setup in Sleepy Hollow, IL in my game room. And, yes, I own this game outright.

I will start a thread on this to answer questions and provide more content on this. Thank you!

Cool. How'd you end up assembling these? Were you involved with the original project?

Hey man! I was doing consulting work for Dutch Pinball back in the day. I helped with the Bride Project and a bit with Lebowski. Mostly helping organize things on this side of the ocean. I took this prototype to a bunch of Midwest shows to help get it out there for people to play. This game was mostly assembled at ARA with the Dutch Pinball team over there. In 2014, when the 3 protos got shipped over to the USA for the Expo reveal and party, I helped just get the final touches put on the machines. A little bit of wiring, 3d printing, and getting the plated wireforms in place. You know, the normal stuff. This was an extremely fun project and it is sad about what happened with ARA. I think Barry is back on track making these games, last I talked to him. So that is good news.

Rare collectors piece!

Oh, I also have the original packing slips (from NL to USA), commercial invoices, and stickers that were placed on the playfield to cover the weed leaf, gun, and Kahlua logo. I ended up removing these temporary stickers and putting them on a sheet of paper and threw them in the coin box. I will have to dig through my box of extra parts to see what I have for this game as well. It all needs to stay with it.

Only you would have this assembled in their living room!
Do you still have that one of a kind Earthshaker ?

HA! I do not have the Earthshaker Aftershock anymore. Not sure where that ended up. I traded it back in early 2020.

Of of curiosity. Is it doable to update it to run production software? What would it take.

I am thinking a different CPU unit. But of course the whole IO layout and wireing might have been changed for production.

Nice item indeed.

Unfortunately, you are correct, the wiring is different so it would need different maps in the new software package. Dutch Pinball would be the only people that could do this as I do not have access to the current source code. I guess I should probably reach out to them and see if it would be a possibility.
