Ive dealt in collectibles my entire life and I can tell you that statement is not true.
Generally the two most liquid parts of most collectibles markets are the the very high end and the low end (entry level).
The hardest things to sell are generally middle of the road items, stuff relatively uninteresting and readily available.
Then again, everything comes down to a factor of pricing (almost anything will sell quickly at a certain price).
