The Avengers (Premium/LE) (Stern, 2012)

Added: May 10th, 2015 Ended: June 29th, 2015
Condition: HUO - Documented (Home Used Only)

Item description

I just picked up a Stern Platinum Avengers pinball from the showroom of a high end company. These pinballs were made by Stern for a company that services the rich folks. Still looks and plays like new. The owner of the company past away some time ago and I was asked by Stern to sell them. Buyer pays shipping.

Price is 5500.00 out the door.

How is a platinum different from any other model? Never heard of it...

#3 5 years ago

Looks like it's got the LE artwork (translite and cabinet) but with black chrome trim...silver rule cards?

Very strange. How many of these are there?

#4 5 years ago

I think I was told they only made 2

#6 5 years ago

My guess is it is like a Refinery Edition. Not an official stern release, just after market mods (in this case the armor) that are not factory.

#7 5 years ago

Looks factory with the custom rule cards.

Upgraded speakers.

Interesting machines....

Seems odd that Stern would use Flipper Fidelity speakers....

Plus I'm not sure the chrome armor looks better than the stock LE powder coat... personal preference, I guess...

Finally, if Stern was going to make a high end machine, wouldn't they have put the LE mirrored backglass in addition to the LE translight?

Looks like pro backbox side art though?

#11 5 years ago

Is it just a premium? Stern ran about 50 of them due to announcing them at the start. That would explain the art package. I've never seen one.

That was my original thought too. But the cab art doesn't match the one in this thread. Translite is different too

Definitely not a premium...just a one off (or two) that someone did. It's not an official version of the game.

It does have the mirror back glass

Cool! You may want to take a better picture of that, you really can't see the mirrored backglass in the pictures...
