I don't think people realize the work and cost involved in restorations. Especially involving cpr swaps and cab decals.

Right. But that's where the disconnect always exists. Would I pay this much for a Taxi? No. Do I understand the work and cost involved? Yes, because I have restored games before. Taxi is one of my all time favorite games. Would most people looking for a Taxi pay this much? No, MOST people would not pay this much. Are you one of those "not most people buyers"? They are out there...

I believe the pin would sell quickly if it was priced at say... 2900. The problem is exactly what you stated above. The cost to make the game like this is more than 2900. This happens ALL THE TIME with "restorations". More so for older machines (System 11 and earlier). The price invested is typically above and beyond what MOST in the open market are willing to pay. Doesn't mean it won't sell, just makes it more of a challenge.

It's overpriced for MOST buyers but that means nothing really, it could still sell. Location and timing are everything in this hobby.

I still strongly suggest to people that are willing to sink 3K plus into a game, to only do so if you are keeping it, or don't mind losing some $. That way, you will never be struggling to find those few peeps willing to buy a 3900 Taxi. There are way easier ways to make $ than restoring old toys from your youth.

Case in point, a HEP No Fear that struggled to sell at $4500.

I just sank a good chunk of cash into having my taxi pf professionally restored because it's a pin I won't sell. I love it that much. So, for me, it's worth it.

These restorations only sell to a very small scope of collectors. Doesn't mean seller should reduce price, etc. Just needs more time and patience.

I sold mine for approximately 2900 this guy's got a lot more into his than I did, glws op. Nice looking pin.

Poor Canadians....Can't even buy the 25+ year old pins in Canada when they are listed in USD and do no reflect fx rate changes. 5,000 Loonies eh!

Seriously though a great looking game. Love Taxi! It or Whirlwind will be my first system 11 game hopefully not too far into the future. GLWTS.
