Removing that fluorescent bulb is a good thing! I have seen where the heat from that bulb dries out the IDC connectors near it (which there are a lot of them) and then you get all kinds of problems. You wind up having to replace the connectors. PITA! Now that will not happen down the road. Whoever did this was smart and made their own LED back board for cheap! And I'm sure it looks much better than the fluorescent bulb too.
Also, these came factory fully LED'd. It was the first pinball machine by Stern with new metal backbox design and all LED lighting.
Great machine for a great price BTW. I know. I have one. It ain't goin nowhere!
