I have a super rare 1984 Williams STAR LIGHT pinball machine PROJECT for sale and I'm asking $1,800 for it. I'm sure that someone NEEDS/wants to give this relic a good home and a lot of love. I bought it, power cord was halfway chopped and mangled... so my thoughts on it were to research and figure out how to check all the wires, all the bulbs and sockets, and just mainly clean all of the connections before I was going to put a new wire on it and plug it in to find out what worked and what didn't (didn't make sense to NOT clean or check any connections and then just blindly plug and try to play it because if I had then I would still be clueless as to whether a part was bad or if it could be a connection... my thinking was if I clean all the connections then if something didn't work I could be FAIRLY certain that would mean a bad part. Anyways, long story short.... I give up.... I started taking it apart.... 90+% alcohol and magic eraser used to clean it up.... but I paid close attention not to scrub down into the paint.... got some swirl marks out but didn't want to get anywhere into the actual paint on the playing field since I am not going to be the one to restore and touch it up.... same with the boards.... I initially took the wiring harness off so that it would be easier for me to check the plugs and any sings of overheating and also so that I could clean them before I tried plugging it in and turning on..... Needless to say, I carefully cleaned the little alkaline that had developed on the posts of battery pack with a q-tip and 1/2 and 1/2 distilled water and white vinegar and I stopped there.... I researched and the more I read the more I figured out that this isn't the project for me.... Would make someone a super nice machine if they wanted to show it the love it deserves..... Pop bumpers are in sad shape, much of the playfield plastics are broken and warped. I didn't want to attempt to heat up and flatten as they are irreplaceable and personal preference on how whoever would want that done.... mixed emotions.... so I stopped with looking and assessing. All I really know more than I did before is that there were only 2 fuses on the whole thing that were bad... and they are the ones that I'm pointing at in the one picture, side by side. And that there was only one clear burn looking mark/spot (dark discoloration) on ONLY ONE PIECE of one plug on the whole wiring harness. Back glass it has the original backglass but all of the picture and lamination is peeled off and it's just clear.... machine still has all of the original stickers on every part including the sides of the machine and the top of the back box saying that if removed then it voids the machines warranty......Metal along on side is roughed up a bit.... I still haven't plugged it in and turned it on... I'm giving up and giving over to someone that can give it the love and life it deserves. I'll post as many detailed pictures as possible... No lowballing.... if the post is still up then it's still available. Thanks for your time.
