Game - for sale

For sale: Star Gazer

Added: 2023-06-17 02:14:17 UTC • Ended: August 21st, 2023
Condition: Fully restored (full original status)

Price

$ 11,500 (OBO)

Open for offers

Selling for a friend - Nice game that plays as good as it looks. Clearcoated playfield and minty original backglass. Running a refurbished stern MpU with nvram. All other pcbs are alltek/weebly. Pin score LED displays (original orange color didn’t photograph well).

Original star gazer cabinet was re-stenciled and looks super, although there is a blemish to the left of the coin door that isn’t too noticeable. Apron is original to the game and does show some scratches/wear. The game is mostly outfitted with incandescent lamps and a handful of leds. There are a few flakey light sockets that I will eventually get to.

Gameplay video upon request or whatever other pics/video you need to validate. References available so you can be sure you aren’t being scammed if you are wiring $.

Prefer cash in person deal, but open to shipping if you arrange and insure. Game is located at ground level.

Sorry no trades on this one.

I paid 7k for mine a few years back, perfect unrestored original that plays amazing.

Said the Zen master...

Well…..the master part is correct

#7 1 year ago

Just edited the ad as I didn’t include obo. It is a very nice example.

No. It’s worth $13,500

Seriously now, one would have to even find a stargazer in any condition first.

Now add onto that the (possible) cost and time to ship, hunt down parts, disassemble, restore, etc especially if you do not have the time or talent to DIY, and suddenly the price seems not that far off if at all, IMO.

If any of you are within driving distance, and are seriously interested, I encourage you to stop and give it a look/play. Hitting those spinners….❤️

Not a chance.

Again, make an offer if interested. The last restored example (actually a recreation from the sounds of it) went for $12k and sold in 2 days.

So educate me. Where should I start on price?

Pinside average price on this game started the year at $4,800. In a short 6 months and the sale of 7 games has raised the average pinside price to $11.5K.

I personally don’t feel the price was representative at 4.8, figured it was worth more, what I feel about the average of 11.5 or your asking price of 13.5 is pretty irrelevant. It’s your game, ask what you want for it… as you have. I don’t think you really owe anyone an explanation or justification. If it’s priced right it will sell, plain and simple.

I totally get that. I feel the same way about some popular, expensive pins.

Been awhile since I’ve seen a shipping quote on pins. Yikes.

Price dropped to help with that, although I’d still prefer a local sale.

Do you understand the obo/make offer? I could maybe provide illustrations if it makes things easier for you.

Are we talking technical manual style or comic strip? I am in either way.

Does this make my 6/10 backglass worth hundreds of dollars?

I’d give you $125 plus shipping for the backglass.. one of the best backglasses in pinball.

Fantastic Artwork. My two favorite classic stern artwork is Quicksilver and Star Gazer. Although Iron Maiden is pretty cool too.

I'll give you $50 cash for it if you meet me at the Allentown or White rose pinball show. OPs pin looks amazing.
