Game - for sale

For sale: Spider-Man (Stern, 2007)

Added: 2016-01-05 15:45:59 UTC • Ended: January 10th, 2016
Condition: Fully shopped/refurbished

Price

$ 5,200

Very Nice Condition Spider-Man, Plays Great, No known issues. The cabinet and playfield are in very good condition, the translite is very nice and has been signed by Steve Richie. Pinbits plastic protectors with webs by the slings, red spiders on the speakers, upgraded 10" cabinet speaker, custom shooter rod, red DMD filter, LED bulbs in all inserts and GI, hidden leg protectors, Cliffy shooter lane protector, I also have a wide Cliffy magnet protector not yet installed. The center ramp was cracked and repaired and does not show, but I have all 3 ramps new in the package for the machine with the upgraded protector and new ramp decals. I will be glad to install these if requested. The Sandman vs. Spider-Man plastic back by the pops is chipped which is very common on this game. SM has been in my lineup longer than any of my other games and I am at the point I have to sell a game to get something different. This is a very nice Spider-Man its just time to change up my lineup.

I would consider trades if it was the right deal.

IE dumping it now before the bottom drops out.

Timing not the best, but a very nice machine for the money.GLWS....

No reason to be like that. Fwiw he has been considering selling it for months now.

?? Timing is perfect. Newer SM is an ugly overpriced design. And no jiggly Green Goblin.

#6 8 years ago

I don't really see these dropping in price either. There are people like me who prefer the movie theme but the market will decide.

#7 8 years ago

Way cheaper then a VE GLWS

Why would the bottom drop out? The VE is going to be around $6600. Plus the callouts on the VE sound bad actor wise. It is like MET but worse...

MET Pro but worse!

Why anyone would want to trade down to the newer Ultimate SM is beyond me.

Worst of all- no J.Jonah Jameson callouts!! That made the game right there!!

The bottom doesn't drop out on good games that are well respected.

The timing is great. Someone considering the VE can save $1300 and get a pile of extras and mods for free.

#11 8 years ago

I'm definitely in the market for one and would totally make a deal happen if one of us was closer. Your's looks in great condition, good luck with the sale!

Totally Agree. They didnt give people the comic book art most were expecting and the VE is crazy expensive. Ive played the OP's game many many times and it plays flawlessly and is really pretty. The buyer wont be disappointed.

You should get $6,000 for yours.

Its a good game and I want one, but supply and demand plays a big part. Right now stern is going to increase the supply, yes at 6500 a pop, but its still more supply. The demand for the current is also down because some will want the newer version. So yeah, expect the value of the current one to drop in the near term. Depending on how many stern makes of the new one and if people find a preference for one over the other will determine how the value of the originals do in the long run.

If anything, I would say the VE would bring UP the price of the originals.

Based on the feedback from the VE threads, many that sold will want their original back after seeing the SMVE. SM has not seen this much action on the forum in a long while, great timing, great price, beautiful pin!!! GLWS

Dung, your screen name is fitting. If you aren't interested then move on. Out of the 8 Spider-Man's listed on PS I have the second lowest price, so why aren't you dumping on the six others that are priced higher than mine?

Not that I need to defend myself for listing a table for sale, but I have been considering selling my SM for several months now. I only have a limited amount of money for this hobby and limited space for games and I am tapped out. In order for me to get a different game I have to sell something, SM has been in my collection longer than all my other games so I decided to let it go. It just happens that Stern decided to release the VE at the same time I finally got around to listing mine. I personally think this is a much better value and a better looking table for those interested in purchasing a SM. I personally don't care for the art package on the VE. My SM is a very nice table and if it doesn't sell I'm fine with that.

I would consider trades if it was the right deal.

#18 8 years ago

Personal opinion, I think your pin looks way better than the VE.

GLWS, someone is going to get a heck of a nice Spidey from you at a fair price!

Just jabbing at the hyperbole you decide to use when trying to sell hence my original use of quoting you. As for "waiting for months" seems rather odd you decide to put it up the day after the ve announcement is made.

Now excuse me while I go cry in the corner. It hurts when people call out a screen name I picked. Sensitive like that.

This is a very good deal. No apologies needed from OP. If I was closer I would sell my TWD In a sec and grab this

#21 8 years ago

So who is going to be the first to try to install the new code on the old Spiderman? I know Stern says they don't support it, but its the same SAM system. What could possibly go wrong? If this one was closer I would buy it as a backup in case it doesn't work as its a good price GLWS

And lose my call original call outs for "I'll never look at a sand castle the same way again"? No thanks.

There is a padlock on the coin box. Guessing this one was routed previously?

In pretty good condition for a routed pin.

Looks nice . Plastic or metal apron ?

Routed is the wrong word. It was on location for a while at the boardgame store where we have a few games. They get played very sparingly. Probably less than some people play the games in their own home. We take extra precautions with our games that we put in there and try to protect against any wear since these are our personal games. We have them up there mainly so we can host a league night every other week

My personal price point for an older Spidey is $5k. One for sale around here at $5500 that I'm not interested in paying, but would probably bite at $5k. I've been very curious to see what would happen after the vault was opened. Too early to say, but I guess there isn't a rush for the old game.

Not saying this one is overpriced, just interesting to see that it didn't get snapped up.

Must be nice to have the right to be fussy over a $200 difference.
Up here, it's relatively rare to see Stern pins for sale, and when they are, they don't usually last very long.

Well I'm being fussy over $500, not $200. If this pin was local to me maybe I'd just buy it. Or maybe we'd split the difference at $5100.

But for me at least $500 is enough to be fussy over.

The condition of this machine speaks for itself, it is a very nice example and plays great. Like my brother stated we use our personal games at a local boardgame store for our pinball league. The games don't get played much other than league nights and they are meticulously cared for.
