This is one of the weirder listing I have had. I absolutely love this game but it’s almost too nice. I have young kids and I’m always nervous of them going over to it. I’m looking to break even if I sell and otherwise will just hold onto it.

This game is gorgeous and the only fault I could possibly find is that it’s so clean and new that it almost plays too fast for a scrub like me.

I will scoot it out tonight to grab some better pictures of the cabinet. It does not have any blemishes.

Here is a summary of some of the work done on this game:

New Cpr playfields (both) lit headlamps
Mantis Ramps(both), ball trough,and battlefield solenoid mount/mech
OCD LED
OCD GI
Aurich art package
Hot Rod arcade black Nickel wireforms ($$)and gun($) and battlefield shroud
CPR plastics
Color DMD (LCD)
Pinsound+
Hardwood rails (Taylor's)
New speakers and subwoofer (8in)
legs, lockdown and rails powder coated with two part power (ie a clear coat with the sparkles)
new divertor arms
Sonic's MRS switch
all opto pairs replaced
Dumbass' opto board
comet leds troughout/flasher too
custom decals
new decals/paint
Mirror Blades
Topper
Replaced coils
Titan rings
lots of new switches and mechanism parts as needed including the wall target
all molex connectors replaced
New ground braid
Nvram installed
all electrolytic caps replaced (except the HV board as its not used)
ezsbc 12v linear regulator installed
all connections repinned with trifurcon pins (.156)
Manual

Must come to me for pickup. Cash sale or trade only. Possible trades for CCr LE or EHOH

In advance of downvotes or price police, yes, this is an expensive shadow. I bought it for $9.5k and then put more money into it, putting me at $10k in. It’s still one of my favorite games but I am exploring if I can get out even on it. If not, I keep it and just sell something else. I’m in no rush, and it is offered for what I’m in it for. This is not the first Shadow I have had but it is the nicest by a huge margin.

I know I usually do sell my games for a couple hundred under what I paid but sometimes, if not in a rush to unload, it would be nice to break even haha.

That was a mistake.

I am looking for a Shadow and, while I can't afford this one, it certainly looks like one of the nicest I've seen. There certainly seems to be a market for high-end, collector quality games. Good luck with the sale!

Ha, that may prove to be true if it doesn’t sell. I’ve already gotten multiple messages so there is some interest. Honestly, even if it doesn’t sell though it’s not the end of the world and to me it is still worth that. Keeping a super nice shadow is not the worst thing that could happen. Just floating it out there.

Very nice GLWTS!

Big ass sticker over sanctum?

#8 1 year ago

It's a piece of mylar, good idea on a new CPR playfield to prevent magnet burn as seen on original Shadow playfields.

This game is very nice. Is it worth $10k? Maybe. Someone can go buy a beat up Shadow for around $5k, buy around $3k in parts, and then spend 100+ hours performing a playfield swap + other restoration work...or just buy this game and everything is done.

#9 1 year ago

My thoughts as well. I like nice games but don’t have the skill set to restore one. Allot went into this obviously.

At the risk of price-pumping, I don’t think Shadows go for $5k these days.

#11 1 year ago

Price is definitely high, but WOW, that is a nice looking Shadow.

#12 1 year ago

Well, I'll say best of luck! Who even knows in this day and age. You don't see a lot of super nice Shadows out there any more. You don't see a lot priced at $10K either, but hats off to ya!

Thanks! If it doesn’t sell and you ever find yourself in the area, always welcome to drop in to play it.

Yep! Just a little mylar.

That was my thought process when buying it. I was going to get a beat up version for a lot less and then started calculating the parts and time it would take to get it where I wanted it to be and found I wasn’t worth all the extra effort.

Crazy price aside it does look incredibly clean!

Yeah - sorry, you can. And in 2022.

I know the market well - 9.5 for a shadow that is not restored was the first problem. Let’s cut the BS. If someone else with a lot of money wants a nice shadow, this is it. And in this market, don’t be surprised b/c anything is possible. Bump.

I got $2850, that offer is firm. No stupid high-ball counter offers. I know what I want to pay here folks. That’s the best post-pinball-price-bubble-pop amount you’ll get. Non serious replies need not apply. Take it or lose it pal. The bubble popped!

Pending. Ha before I listed this I had three pinside angry boys in mind that love to dump on everything. Haha I got two of them to join in, I will assume the third didn’t see. Stay classy friends and try to find some joy in your lives, pinball is not that serious!

I used to think the same thing, but it seems a lot of real nice Shadows have been on the market lately. I just bought one that was nicer than my long time keeper cause it was nicer.

Anyway this is a super great B/W 1990's game. To me the B/W's from that era are the blue chips of our hobby. I find that I have been buying them when they come up on the market and selling the newer stuff to make space.

There would be a lot more joy in my life if I could drop 10k and then tell other people it’s not serious

It’s always been a rich mans hobby, more now than ever.

Hah, I was wondering this myself. And I’m kinda hazy on number 2 now that you mention it, I’ve lost track of the price police hierarchy. Damn nice game btw.

#26 1 year ago

Game looks gorgeous. Congrats on the sale.

#27 1 year ago

Great example of Brian Eddys best shooting game. Priced right where it should be for a full restoration.

#28 1 year ago

That game looks awesome and is priced fairly given the work that was done so I wonder what a very nice true prototype would bring these days?

Whom's the 3rd?!

My guess it has to do with a certain cat.
