Game - for sale

For sale: Restored Fish Tales

Added: 2021-03-21 00:03:34 UTC • Ended: March 28th, 2021
Condition: Fully restored (full original status)

Price

$ 5,800

For sale is my restored Williams Fish Tales.

Is it a perfect high end restore, no, but it is a good restore with lots of parts and time put into this machine. Below is what was done to it...

New cabinet head (old one too beat up and splinted), new cabinet decals, high gloss black powder coated rails, hinges, legs, shooter reel assembly. New fish topper plastic dome. New Pinballbulbs LED kit with ball trough, backboard, and spot lights added. LCD ColorDMD installed, new plastics installed. New Titan rubber ring kit in blue and green. New reel belt. Flippers rebuilt, new yellow plastic lane guides looks better then red, with blue pop bumper caps. New fliptronic flipper board, new MPU. New clear plastic ramp, new ramp decal. Cabinet interior painted black, coin door refinished, LED flipper buttons installed, clear coated playfield.

There may be more but this is what I can think of off the top of my head. It plays great, looks great. It will be impossible to replace once it is sold and I am not in a huge rush to sell it nor am I looking for any trades because I am out of space.

I know the price police exist and can comment away on what I am asking but this machine is not the typical faded cabinet Fish Tales or that god awful orange monstrosity that claims to be some $10k restore from someone who is shooting for the moon. This is a working restored Fish Tales in the middle that someone can get and do nothing to and just play and not have to put countless hours or hundreds of dollars in to add to their collection.

If someone wants to knock some money off I can remove the color DMD and knock $300 off the price and install the old orange display.

Prefer a local cash sale, come play it, see it. No trades please as I am full out of space.

Questions just ask.

Super nice looking machine, the black powder coating looks really good on this game.

#3 3 years ago

Yep black powder or chrome really suits this game. wamonkey price is fair for the work done I think. GLWS

Thanks - appreciate the feedback. Trying to be fair - it plays great and hate to give it up but just picked up a Johnny Mnemonic and need to make room and the restore of that machine. Black or chrome trim is the only way to go on this machine, blue or orange is just not right in my opinion. Other then my Getaway which is red trim I rarely go bold n colors and the powder coating on this is just a great looking shinny black.

I like the price. Nice work.

#6 3 years ago

I agree . Most 90's B/W' should be the original Stainless,Black or chrome trim. Occasionally brass, for example IJ. For some reason color trims do not work for me on these games. Versus they look fine , if properly coordinated, with the newer games.

Looks very nice. If I were a drivable distance ,I would be tempted.

Great price

#8 3 years ago

Price is good man, very nice game. I would much rather have this than the $11k one for sale.

#9 3 years ago

are those radcals? looks great.

edit: looking closer, i'd guess not. i was thrown off by the glossy reflection. but looking closer, i can see the texture of a decal.

#10 3 years ago

I’ll echo the above comments, I think price is right in line if not more than fair. The game looks great. I like the blue pop caps to go with the water underneath. Great looking restore

Wow - where is the price police?

I expected it...

Thanks all - I think I am being fair and realistic for what you get.

Does that come with a fishing boat? Just kidding, nice machine.

Would that help - a small kids bathtub boat

Kind of sad in a way when price police go quiet on a $5800 Fish Tales. Not saying your price is out of line but just shows how prices have shot up. Out of three in the marketplace, yours is the cheapest. You could argue that's all just wishful thinking but sale pending on one more expensive plus seven want ads.

and the other one that has sale pending is not nearly as nice as this one. crazy. Must be a location thing.

Great price on a great machine I paid slightly more for the restored fish tales that I got last year.

#18 3 years ago

Yep I just bought a nice unfaded original, no extras whatsoever, totally stock except for LEDs, and paid 4 grand. So I think this one here is well worth the asking price considering all the work, clear coat, color DMD, classy powdercoat etc etc. nice work OP!

Ok one price related comment... for the price I would expect an original looking start button...

It is original

#21 3 years ago

It may be the one that came on it but that is not an original WMS start button. They recess into the cabinet and say START on them. They're like $6 on Pinball Life but it may be too late if that one has been tightened down enough onto the decals.
