Okay it's official. People are off their rockers. GLWS.

PS. You should have priced this $8,675,309

#3 5 years ago

Real prices should be mandatory, not best offer auction style.

#4 5 years ago

So... What is the actual asking price of this amazing super rare game that I’ve never even heard of?

#5 5 years ago

shinkwrap !

i think pics should be mandatory. Why not start the post AFTER you take pictures

#7 5 years ago

Is it imamaculate

#8 5 years ago

It's to rare for pictures. Somebody might try to copy it and that would bring the price down to only 8,250,000.

#9 5 years ago

I'll trow my bid in at 4 bucks, who's gonna top that!?

#10 5 years ago

I'd like to see the pics. Is it this prototype artwork on the playfield? Looks WAY WAY better than production artwork.

#11 5 years ago

I have a pretty rare regular viper night driving for $1700 if anybody is interested, no shrinkwrap though. just think of all the shrinkwrap you could buy with $8,386,907

#12 5 years ago

I'd be curious to see photos as well. Why list this with no pics, and no real price? Are we just supposed to start wadding up hundreds and throwing them at the seller at the mere thought of this machine?

#13 5 years ago

Crap, I only buy houses sight unseen for millions of dollars or I would totally buy this.

#14 5 years ago
Quoted from Atari_Daze:

$5.50

#15 5 years ago

I'll go $7.75

#16 5 years ago

Price is in North Korean won, correct?

#17 5 years ago

$10 bob

#18 5 years ago

All these poor chumps with their offensively low bids, sorry that you have to deal with these people ruining your thread.

I'm in at $150

Not a fan of this?

Phew, I thought I was going to be stuck with this thing. Glad I was out bid!

#21 5 years ago

NickBudlight

You need to put an actual price on the item that you would be willing to sell it at. Pinside does not run auctions, at least not yet.

I'll reserve judgment till I see the layout. Maybe they secretly made 1 Viper night driven that was a complete piece of shit; stranger things have happened.

Thats VERY cool...

#33 5 years ago

Yea that’s not what I was expecting... cool! Anyone got the story on this?

#34 5 years ago

Gdamn, I remember when a nice Viper went for 15k......again......this market is pricing me right out of the hobby.......

#35 5 years ago

It's 20K now. Seller was smart holding onto it all this time. The family friendly version should be a hit now with our society.

#36 5 years ago

I def would've had way more fun owning and playing Viper if this was the production model.

Any chance of video?

#37 5 years ago

Very cool. Any chance of getting a picture of the side art?

#38 5 years ago

And Nick Budlight shut up the pinside police!!!? Wtf!
I expected the mini when opening, never seen this jewel.
But damn! 20k is a lot to my lifestyle.

#39 5 years ago

cool to see, but is it documented anywhere this is one of one? Didn't B/W make quite a few of their sample and prototype games?

#40 5 years ago

It is interesting and rare, but surprised that for 20k asking it has not been shopped? Would be curious to know what this goes for, have enough rare and interesting to know that rare does not necessarily make it valuable. For example, someone posted a sega goosebumps shuffle alley on fb that they are about to part out due to bit rot.

Quoted from pindude80:

I'm guessing this isn't one of them.

#42 5 years ago

I'm interested, but not at $20k. I don't actually know what a price that I'm willing to pay is, but it's not that. If someone is, more power to them - and I want to know more details when you get the game

I love the other version of the game, and it's always been a bit of a mystery about the differences between this and that. While this original prototype has the same ramps, the center portion of the game is completely different. To be honest, I don't expect it will play as well as the released game, but I think it's interesting, especially as this version was almost completely overlooked for years and year.

#43 5 years ago

Just as an example, the Sega Kelly Packard Proto too, was a pretty different game than Sharkeys shootout, and I saw that on eBay without anyone chomping to buy it last year for 5-6k was it?

Edit* when I first saw this listing it was what, $8k?+ Now it’s 20k?! Damn... need a space suit for this listing, heading to the moon...

it was actually like 8 million or 800,000,000 originally

#45 5 years ago

At 8k he may of sold it. But $20k, umm that’s

There were at least 10 of them made. Probably more.

I do remember playing this at expo a LONG time ago. It’s rare in that it is completely different than the production viper. I have no idea why they went a different direction with the production version. Don’t remember how it played, so probably wasn’t that good or I would have remembered. Defiantly not a game for an average collector, but someone that likes weird, super rare stuff. Like pinball circuis, Ritchie ritch, or desert storm. This falls within this category IMO

Downside is that because it is so different than the production the software could be very shallow. Depends on how far along it was before they decided to go a different route. For me, I'd probably do 4k. That is over double what i could get a production machine for in this shape. If and I do mean if you could find a sega fan, who is a viper fan, who has deep pockets and likes games that are rare for nothing other than the sake of being rare maybe someone else would do more? But that is a lot of ifs. How many of these things sit for ages? Remember someone trying to get 4k for a golden cue proto for years and no bites.
