Cool game. We have one here on location. Cost $.50, plays great. I'll let the owner know he owns a $9,000 game.

#4 2 years ago

Thanks Levi! Leeb consider yourself lucky, there's a reason why an unrestored example commands over 5k. Most aren't lucky enough to play one.

#5 2 years ago

I guess what's funny to me with pinball lately is that no one actually evaluates gameplay vs. their dollar anymore. It's literally gone off the charts batshit crazy. Pinball these days makes about as much sense as Dogecoin.

#6 2 years ago

That's ok this ad doesn't need to make sense to you. The gameplay of Quicksilver is undeniably delicious. This example is brand new with every screw and wire touched. Everything is brand new except the boards, cabinet and cab hardware.

#7 2 years ago

LOl,

I literally asked someone yesterday what it would cost to re create one of these.

I am getting into my two vintage Sterns (Stars and SW). QS is on my watch list now.

Very nice project and I think your signature/ initials are a cool way to sign the game.

#8 2 years ago

This add makes no sense to me, lol. Amazing work and sought after pin. GLWTS!

It does look nice, but why not recap the boards at least?

#10 2 years ago

Looks nice, GLTWS and all but genuinely curious what’s up with this board? I don’t recognize it as a needed board in QS.

Good to know exactly what you're getting for this price... extra "parts board" included at no extra charge!

#13 2 years ago

Yes you get the speech board thrown in case you're smart enough to add speech to your game. All brown clips will be replaced20211222_102635 (resized).jpg20211222_102635 (resized).jpg20211222_103057 (resized).jpg20211222_103057 (resized).jpg

Thanks and yes I should have recapped the SDB

For some reason I am irresistibly drawn to this game even though I have never played it.

Some people love it, some people don't. Pinball is just about the same as all other lands. If you like the colors green and silver or, you like Hg, you were probably be fooled just like all the others.

Quick bump!

#19 2 years ago

First off this thing is beautiful! Nice work! Makes me want to break out the Mirco playfield and hand it and my game off to someone who knows what they're doing. Do you have different color LEDs behind the "Quicksilver" part of the backglass in this game vs the original? Looks more yellow. Haven't seen a repro backglass before so I was curious.

Crazy times when you can search Pinside and see 3 QS for sale. Three price points, three distinct levels of quality, starting at the bottom with mine.

#20 2 years ago

Thanks for the bump freddy! Thank you bjsilverballs for the kind words! My Quicksilver on the left still has incandescent bulbs throughout. My apologies for my timing. My intentions were to finish and list this build months ago. At least the playfield had time to cure. All of the displays are centered now.20211222_133811 (resized).jpg20211222_133811 (resized).jpg

If it wasn't for this community this build wouldn't have been possible. From parts to advice I was helped by many. When you start yours don't be afraid to reach out with questions. I'll try to help the best I can or might have possible future answers to your questions in my pics.

Oh and good luck with your sale!

#22 2 years ago

I know i'm going to take shit for this, but that cabinet paint job looks not so good.

#23 2 years ago

Thanks jj Yes there a few spots of overspray on the back left hand side of the cabinet where I didn't squeegee hard enough and the stencil lifted up.

I am really getting into the Classic Stern game play. Stars and Sea Witch are both simple but elegant rule sets. I got to admit this game would look great next to the both of them. If only I had the room.

Yes the magic of the classic sterns! I miss Sea Witch sometimes, awesome drop target fun but that bitch can be mean! After the holiday season the dining room is just wasted space...

Merry Christmas bump for outstanding work on building a classic game. Nice Job buddy and Good luck with the Sale !!!!

Thanks Mike! Too kind, Merry Christmas!!

Used the safer post that runs straight through the playfield bump, rather than just screwed in. It will never be leaning back from continual hits.20210829_123050 (resized).jpg20210829_123050 (resized).jpg20210829_124150 (resized).jpg20210829_124150 (resized).jpg

T nuts always a good idea

#34 2 years ago

Yes T nuts were used everywhere else because I used new screws for the starposts. I didn't drill in a Tnut for the post before the spinner wire hole because it was so close to the hole. This post has a washer and nut.
