RobCraig, I wasn't trying to be the price police; Nor did I say your price was unfair (there just aren't enough of these sold to get an average asking price). No need to get defensive. I was just trying to say that rare does not always equal valuable. I also found an add from a few years back of a guy selling a Punchy for $795 (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/rec.games.pinball/K7k34oqXniY). You can keep down voting me if you want but my intentions are not malicious. Anyway, free bump for ya, and GLWS.

Sorry, I didn't realize it was frowned upon to help locate average prices on a rare pin. Wasn't trying to "crap" on anyone's FS thread.
OP said "I'm having a hard time coming up with a pricing reference." so I helped locate two for him - 1 at $400 and 1 at $795. Whitey came in with an additional price sold at $1500 and UFO said he sold one for $400 as well. OP should now have a pretty good average to go by.
My first time ever posting here. Not the most friendly experience for someone just trying to offer assistance - not looking to cause drama. Was NOT trying to price police anyone. Again, I was just trying to assist. I can see now that this kind of assistance is not wanted. GLWS and free bump (again).

Quoted from Frax:

I don't think it's an issue that you're trying to provide a baseline, but the timescale on which that baseline matters, and in the case of pinball, 2 or 3 year old data is almost completely irrelevant, especially on super-low production games that don't sell all that often.
Pin prices across the board have exploded the last three years...
*Edit*
To be honest, I did miss the part where he said he was having a hard time finding other prices. But case in point how not all data is necessarily relevant, here's what Boston Pinball has for tracked ebay sales:
Punchy the Clown
1,001 all-time average of sales
482 Lowest price sold
2,444 Highest price sold (I think this is the most relevant data point here. Kind of a red flag if you're asking more than ebay's highest tracked sale but again...free market..)
8 Number of sales tracked.
Oy. Eight sales tracked, ever. The site has over 9 years of tracked sale data. That means on average there is one Punchy sold on ebay every 13 months or so, at best.

Thanks for the clarification. I will try harder to stick to facts instead of injecting my opinions in the future. To clarify, the Punchy I saw (not "I knew a guy") was only listed last year which is why I thought it was still relevant.
Also, You must have a more up-to-date Boston Pinball Ebay list than I can find. I've been using (http://www.bostonpinball.biz/ebay0512.htm) which only shows 6 sales for Punchy the clown.

Punchy the Clown:

Avg Of Price: 681

Min Of Price : 482

Max Of Price: 960

Avg w/o Min/Max: 662

Count Of Sales Activity: 6
