well, with 26 ads all resulting in unsold, either they are all overpriced or he skips out on paying pinside for the ad fee..

$13,500 Canadian would be a good price in today’s market. Most have sold for around $10k us, too bad it’s $13,500 US dollars

#5 4 years ago

Might be priced in Canadian money, which would be USD $10145.59. Just guessing on my part...

#6 4 years ago

Does it have cash in the coin box ?

It is but not this high. I believe they are trading hands at 11-11500 currently.. depending on condition and mods of course also...

Agree. They've gone for as low as 9500, but probably closer to 10-10.5 is likely (still high). no way is this game worth nearly two stern premiums, and I'm a huge jjp fan. Jack will see this trend and remake them eventually.

Definitely not worth that kind of money. Game gets stale fast. I couldn’t bear the fact I had $10k wrapped up in mine. It’s not $10k worth of fun.

#20 4 years ago

I think the ask is about right.

When selling my Wonka SE I had 4 people ask (repeatedly) to buy my POTC LE just from spying a sliver of it in a photo.

When I sell mine it will be for one reason only: to upgrade to a CE.

I agree it’s hard to argue that POTC is worth the same as 2 Stern premiums, but you could say the same thing about any JJP CE or Stern Signature game that still have plenty of buyers. Doubt I'd sell my POTC LE for $13k and suspect many other owners feel the same way.

To be fair JJP POTC LE has at least twice the features and code as a typical Stern premium lol.

#23 4 years ago

I'm not going to argue the fact that all jjp games have more in them than Stern's. Again, I'm a bigger jjp fan, but this is crazy. Everyone is different, but is equivalent to a JP premium and any stern pro put together. I'd take the two. I bought two jjp games nib, and those prices are already crazy when you stop and think what you're doing. I agree, NO game is worth this much.
This reminds me of when my acdc premium was selling for $2k more than nib price. I considered selling, but love the game so I kept it. Stern seen demand, and ran it again. Jack has been asked several times about running more potc due to demand, and he just grins and smiles. You do the math guys. Jjp will have a down time between games sometime and guess what would be a quick 500 sales.

Quoted from PanzerFreak:

They may have twice the features and twice the weight, but that doesn't equate to twice the fun. I play my two Stern's 5 times more than my jjp games, so I know the"value" well. Again, I'm the biggest jjp fan, but this is unreasonable.
BTW I currently have an ad out wanting this game, but I'll never pay this. There's literally plenty of other great games available currently and coming soon that will hold people over until Jack runs more potc or the hype dies.

#25 4 years ago

There is a standard for $8500 right now. $4500 difference from a standard seems like quite a reach.

It's OBO so wouldn’t call him out for being unreasonable.

The game was announced 2-years ago so don’t agree the current situation is typical new game hype. It's just an amazing game that's hard to find. Maybe they'll run more, but would bet it will be around $12.5k + shipping for a new LE version that may have fewer features.

So then a "reasonable" best offer is $9500 or would that be offensive? It's all hype on a great game that may or may not be remade. Only time will tell, but these prices are not reasonable to most people. I just think it's too bad the hobby has this happen to great games, and people are priced out. Again each their own. Just not for me at this price.

#28 4 years ago

Doubt this game is remade after speaking with jjp. Just sounds like they are moving on from it.

I bet it gets remade eventually, but it'll be 12500 when it does.

I'm never offended by an offer if I list an ad as OBO - just say "no thanks." And maybe decide they're not someone I want to deal with going forward if it's really a low ball offer - I personally prefer to deal with hobbyists who are interested in the possibility of future deals and getting to know one another.

Quoted from konghusker:

Just not for me at this price.

Seems like a good response to any for sale ad that someone thinks is over priced.

#31 4 years ago

if he is not going to pay his fee for selling a pin, he should be banned from listing any futher for sale ads.

Never happen if that’s your best offer. Unreasonable? Probably is but supply and demand dictates price here. Lots of people want one and not many to be found. I don’t know the exact numbers but the production was very very limited on this game. I just recently picked one up from a great seller who had multiple offers from people both international and domestic. People basically begging him to sell to them. He had his pick but let me have first crack as I contacted him first. Worth it or not you pretty much have to pay asking if you seriously want this game.

Right? This well known flipper uses a website devoted to what he is selling and is too cheap to pay fees? Administration should be looking into this.

Totally agree....He'll probably get $12k as NIB would go for $13k

#35 4 years ago

I may need to rethink my price when its time to let mine go over the next month or two . I know it's a pin people want but didn't think it was so highly regarded.

Around 1k total between all the models is the guess.

$9500 is more realistic than $13k.

Are you sure? According to all the owners it's priced right.

Are there any owners who will admit this is high, or have all of you become shameless price pumpers?

The thing you are missing: owners love their games. Most are not willing to part with them at any price.

I'm a owner and its high... they are selling for much more than 9500 tho and I paid much more than that. They are usually moving between 10-11500 depending on condition ,mods and location.

I currently own a POTC LE.

Would I buy today it for $13,000 - No
Would I sell it today for $13,000 - No

Weird place to be really.

I get that and I respect an owner who says "Mine is worth more to me than what these are currently trading for." I take issue with the owners who feel inclined to chime in on every overpriced FS thread for a pin they own with "priced right" or "should sell fast" or some bullshit like that.

This site has become rife with price pumping owners, brand schilling and brand bashing. Very bad for Pinside and for the hobby. At this point I may be alienating myself from half the members on here, but I'm fed up and I'm putting my foot down.

If you are referring to the MSRP, yes, absolutely. Now imagine someone listing theirs for 35% over MSRP next year, and a bunch of owners chiming in to hype up what a bargain it is.
