Normally I would thumbs down the price but what's the point anymore. Hobby is so fucking crazy. A game that had no demand and nobody wanted so production was stopped is now the most sought after. Just glad I been collecting for 25 years and can't imagine it's fun getting into it right now. Best of luck and smart to cash out while you can. My collection has increased significantly in net worth over the past year with the influx of idiots into this hobby so I'll reap the rewards as well.

There’s a POTC CE on route near me for $1.00 a game. Such a fun pin.

Will u take 34,950? Wow, is all I can say.

#14 3 years ago

Can you at least throw in the Alien or WOZ with the purchase?

#15 3 years ago

The people who bought this shitty game when it came out deserve to reap the rewards, if any are to be had.

If you want to do the same, buy expensive games that break all the time when they are in production, not 3 years later.

#16 3 years ago

more to come, stand by!

Good Luck with the Sale.

He's not ripping off pinheads he's fishing for suckers.

It's not a rip off if it's consensual and the buyer gets what he's paid for.

I'm here for a laugh or two and just before the lock.

Let me ask you would you sell this game for 35k and feel good about it? I know you would have a good profit but as a good person that's passionate about this hobby i dont really think you would be happy about doing this to somebody even if they wanted the game.

Yes, I would feel fucking fantastic if I could make a $25,000 profit on any pinball machine, especially a ridiculous contraption like pirates that I’d be thrilled to be rid of while it was still working properly. I would take the cash and sleep like a baby. The fact that the buyer is probably happier than I am after scoring their dream machine would just make me feel better.

You realize nobody needs a pirates pinball machine right? In fact, most would call it a total luxury item.

It’s a luxury item among luxury items.

What’s the problem?

With rumors of another run at JJP of these owners are probably scrambling so it is what it is.

Nobody is holding a gun to anybody’s head and demanding they buy their pinball machine.
Its not like he’s ripping off little kids or old people with dementia.
I’m also pretty sure it’s adults buying these things.
If somebody wants to come along and spend 35k on a pinball machine, I don’t really think it matters all that much if they overpaid for something like this.
That sort of buyer isn’t eating ramen noodles or clipping coupons to get through a rough financial patch. There’s a lot of loose money in the world at the moment.

All that said, I have officially written off the possibility of owning one of these.
Not saying the price is right or wrong, it’s just out of the pricing structure I’m personally willing to pay for a single machine.

Quoted from JoinTheCirqus:

'fleecing' means to make money by over-charging or swindling. as for the over-charging claim, who are you to say what the machine is worth? it's worth whatever the person who's willing to buy it will bear vs what the seller is willing to take to let it go. that's how markets work. you might not like the price, or feel it's fair, but the market doesn't care what you think. and as for swindling, the ad clearly state what you're buying, and how much the seller wants for it. there's nothing deceitful or fraudulent about it.

you're talking like he's selling life necessities like, food, water, medicine or shelter. this is a luxury item that any person in the world can live without, if they choose to.

#48 3 years ago
Quoted from Phbooms:

It is. And we can all point and laugh at the buyers like we did for the unfortunate souls who paid $6500 for their Iron Man games a week before it was vaulted.

It’s the circle of pinball life.

I'll never understand the indignant tone and accusations of greed in these threads. The guy isn't selling water in the desert or withholding food from starving people, he's selling what most people would consider a luxury item.

If he gets $35k for the machine it doesn't automatically jack up the cost of purchasing a routed Fish Tales, nor does it mean that the buyer will be able to sell it in the future for the same amount or more. Maybe the buyer takes a bath.

Some people acquired games decades ago for a fraction of the today's market price. Should they sell the games for what they paid? 15% more? 100% more? What about real estate? I paid top dollar for a property 15 years ago. 5 years later I would have taken a bath selling it. Today the home is worth 40% more. Is it greedy to sell the house for what the market can bear when there are people that can't afford it?
