Price

$ 25,500 (Firm)

Price is firm

Price was just lowered to $25,500 - the median price on this on pinside is $31,925. My price is firm at this point. Thank you!

Hi there, I am selling my POTC CE #138!

Mods: Several mods... can't even remember which ones so I'd have to take a look. I don't remember what they were - star map, barrels, ? - I suppose I should take a look.

Topper: Yes!

Backglass: New-in-Box backglass included - when the pin was first shipped to me the backglass wasn't seated properly and I have never installed the new backglass, and Jersey Jack was nice to send a new backglass to me.

Located in Phoenix, Arizona... it's in a nonsmoking home that I'm rarely at, so it has been pretty lightly used.

Gonna be a tough sale in the current market

#4 10 months ago

I couldn't fathom the price on this one when researching, however I did pull the trigger on the CE and don't regret it a bit. Theres a guy making a topper for it that has a screen showing water behind the ship too thats pretty cool, and at a reasonable price. I only wish the guy was still making the pirate gun shooter rods for these.

#5 10 months ago

what's this worth in todays market? I own a CE too, but don't plan to sell.

#6 10 months ago

Is it made out of Unobtainium?

#7 10 months ago

I read where Jack pretty much said they will not be rerunning potc so that should help from that standpoint….

Jack said that on the latest Loser Kid Pinball podcast.

That’s where it was…I knew i heard it somewhere.

Is this the only one with completed code?

Is that why it is $32k?

Interesting, I wonder if talks with Disney fell through? Last I heard JJP still very much wants to rerun POTC

I heard it a few times that they're not rerunning it because of the fact that when it came out, everyone gave it bad reviews talked crap about it online and the sales numbers took a big hit because of it. So they ran the first run then just stopped and vowed to never make it again as a big F you to all those out there that spewed all the hate and had never even played the game.

This could be wrong, but that's what I heard from more than one source.

In Europe, price are going down: less and less buyers. I see more and more ads staying forever and some pin price start going back to what it was 2 years ago like IJ for instance when it was around 11k in good shape not so long ago and for sale at 7k now and people are not fighting for it.

Maybe there is a special market for POTC but there are really little difference with the LE or basic and it hard to justify nowdays such high prices IMO.
Also it’s loaded with Mirco Pf, i hope it will last in time: I think I haven’t seen a POTC with more than 500 plays.

#14 10 months ago

It's got mods!

#15 10 months ago

GLWS. Please don't listen to these misinformed they don't know what they're talking about Jack has stated numerous times it won't be rerun they don't have the license they can't use Johnny Depp and they're moving on but the peanut gallery always has their comments..

Quoted from Warzard:

I have around 3,000 plays on mine. There was some 'pooling' and chipping around some posts within the first few hundred plays, which I repaired with the hot iron method and installed wider posts. Other than that, the playfield is looking good and still has a high shine. You roll the dice with Mirco stuff regardless of play count.

Honestly I think the price is too low... I had an offer of $50K for mine when the market was scorching and I almost took it. No regrets as I have no intentions of ever selling it but the reality is it's a rare game that's extremely fun and completely full of stuff.

PLEASE JJP FINISH THE DAMN CODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#18 10 months ago

Are spare playfields for this machine available anywhere? I picked up one that was cleared by Ron Kruzman years ago before I even owned one), but you never see them for some reason on this model.

I have one in the box from JJP due to pooling on my CE but I kind of see that as priceless and something I'd only ever sell with the game. JJP only did this for a handful of CE owners then quit doing it for anyone/everyone shortly after during the issues with Wonka before they changed their warranty to exclude this all together. They are out there but extremely rare, more so than the game itself by a fair bit.

#20 10 months ago

I have a spare CE playfield and plastics. I bought it directly from JJP.

SE is more rare. 50k you're absolutely insane for not taking that offer.

Any of the good ones?

50k for any modern machine is hard to even imagine. I'd probably have sold mine if someone offered that. Curious what they are worth now. $28k?

Quoted from jake35:

There are production 1000+ pins that only come up for sale on this site every three to six months- this has less production than those (if we are to believe the #'s) yet there are no less than 5 of these available, all with very low play.

Been told that several times but I strongly disagree. I have absolutely zero desire to sell it now or then or later or whenever. Naturally I have a price I'd take but it's so ridiculously insane I don't ever expect anyone to pay it. Some of us aren't here to make money...

Please... Ever heard of the phrase "every man has his price"? I don't consider a $50K offer to be "insane" or whatever but to each their own. I also don't see the contradiction either but again, whatever.

No need for me to continue this and I hope the OP gets what they're asking even if I think it's a little low.

“Located in Phoenix, Arizona... it's in a nonsmoking home that I'm rarely at”

What’s your address so I can break in… I mean, meet you for a legitimate purchase?

#30 10 months ago

It’s not that Jack said absolutely not or re-running “older titles”.

He said they want to focus on what’s in front of them, “that’s why the windshield is bigger than the rear view mirror”.

Sounds unlikely however BUT…..he said that before on Hobbit and Woz. Fast forward, little to no development costs? You never know…..

Look at Stern re-running every anniversary edition!

#31 10 months ago

How many of these were made? Am I remembering right that the total was ~ 200 (LEs and CEs)? For such a rare game there are a surprising number active on the Pinside market.

#32 10 months ago

I love POTC JJP, great game

Look man, I'm truly happy for wherever you are in life that its easier to make 50k than to buy another POTC CE at some point. The machine is cool theres no doubt, but like...no machine is worth 50k. Especially no modern machine. Maybe if you're one of these guys that has to collect the truly rare of rare games like King Kong and Goin Nuts and whatnot 50k for a machine isn't insane, but no version of POTC will ever be that. Not even the prototypes with triple spinning discs and stuff I don't think. The fact is, that even during crazy covid I saw these popping up once in a while in the 30k range and sitting around. These have never even touched the 50k range to my knowledge. Even if you are at peace with your decision, passing up 50k IS insane.

Definitely incorrect number based on the incredibly inaccurate gauge of just Owners of the LE and CE on Pinside. It's probably at least a thousand with 500 in collections on Pinside but anything is just a guess.

Thanks? The game is worth more to me for reasons that are none of Pinside's business. Some people value things purely in monetary terms, some don't.

There were slightly less than 200 CEs made, not sure on the other versions.

LE - 650
SE - 150

1,000 total machines.

I think its more your attitude and you claiming the game is "too cheap". You know...pumping up a game you happen to own, that you got some crazy, neigh I say...unbelievable...offer on, that you turned down for secret reasons but you also have no intention of selling said game you're pumping. Thats probably what the downvotes are for.

Just for the record, in a fairly “recent” discussion about Goin’ Nuts, it could be had for half that price. The only game truly worth 50k+ and verified at that price (75k) has been Kingpin.

Well yeah, pumpers don't usually say "hey I am pumping up this game that I own!" They say "I would never sell mine that cheap!" or "I've turned down way better offers than what this guy is asking" or "wow somebody is getting a great deal on this thing" or stuff like that. I'm assuming thats what you meant by "isn't what you said at all" because you did say the price was too low, and your reason for keeping yours was not for us to know, and that you plan on keeping yours forever.

Which again, isn't what I was doing or saying at all. For fuck's sake... I'm not here to pump the damn game. I don't give a flying fuck what the final price is on this listing. I was merely making an observation and thought it was worth explaining a bit why I didn't take the offer I had as a reference point that's not even valid anymore given the complete change in the market. Clearly I shouldn't have even said that much. Again, childish bullshit.

I own 12 machines, I've sold exactly 0 of them. I'm not here to turn and burn on games, I don't flip games, I buy what I want to buy for what I want to have. Nothing remotely wrong with people who frequently swap/trade/buy/sell games, nothing whatsoever wrong with that before you put more words into my mouth.

Screaming "childish bullshit!!!" while simultaneously having a meltdown on par with a two-year is a strange look.

Dude, you turned down $50K for a pinball machine which most of us naturally find batshit crazy. But good for you! We all do batshit crazy stuff in this hobby most are just afraid to admit it.

If the thread is getting to you just bail out...it's not even your for sale ad! It's just some poor bastard trying to sell a POTC for $32,000 and catching shit for it...why are you standing in the crossfire and taking the shots for this guy?!

All Price Cops Are Bad. Yeah, they think they are serving up justice, but what about all the innocent bystanders who catch strays?! It ain't right!
