When you see the "won't ship" on an auction/CL/ad isn't it true that given the sellers address, NAVL will basically wrap and haul themselves without any help from the seller?

If so, I will be looking at all "won't ship" sales more...

    #2 12 years ago

I do it all the time,
for local sale only- cash and carry

    #3 12 years ago

I'd be interested to know if NAVL does this. There's a few pins I've shyed away from buying because the seller doesn't want to be bothered with shipping.

What's the prices people have been seeing to ship a pin?

I haven't checked the Canadian side of the deal but most NAVL quotes seem to fall in the $300 - 400 range.

I have one coming from New York to Iowa @ $387

That would change my stance on no ship pin auctions

But does NAVL really pallet and wrap a game for shipping so the pin is not damaged?

I think I read just that in a post once, TDA. May have been WesP? However, I have READ on ebay that NAVL does a great job blanket/plastic wrapping and taking care of machines. I would just like to see it verified by someone trustworthy on this forum.

There are trustworthy people here, right???

I thought someone recently got a pin shipped with the legs and back box still on?
    anyone remember that?

I was discussing this very subject with pinmike yesterday. He said they shrinkwrap the machine with the legs on. He's had multiple machines shipped this way through NAVL and never had issues. That helped give me some peace of mind.

I'm sure he'll be on here at some point today and can elaborate on his experiences with them.

Hello Gentlemen and happy 4th to all of you!!Heres how it works with
NAVL and i have used them more than a dozen of times to get my pins
and arcade machines and i never had any problems "knock on wood"
When they pickup the machine all they do is shrink wrap it with the legs on and haul
it away and usually two guys do this and they handle it with care.
NAVL gets alot of business from EBAY and they even set up a team
called the Ebay/gaming team when you call to set up shipping this the
option you will have to use.All you have to do is make sure the seller
has the game on the first level and make sure the backbox is down and
tape the keys on the playfield glass shipping usually takes 7 to 10 days.

They do not pallet the machine that is something you or the seller
have to do most sellers crate the machine for an extra fee

Alot of sellers dont want to ship because of two reasons
    1.They want cash in hand
2.They are afraid of Paypal scams
There was a seller on RGP years ago who got scammed out of a 4k
machine and here is how it works. The buyer will schedule pickup
in person with the seller and will use someone else's paypal acct.
like a girlfriend, friend, mother in law, etc. When he pays with paypal
and he personally pickups the machine there is no proof on the sellers
end that he picked up the game. The buyer files a claim with Paypal
that the seller never shipped the game and when paypal contacts
the seller about proof of a shipping Bill of lading or pickup he is left itching his
head and out of a game and money. There is no proof! and Driver licence #
or copy of I.D. does not work with Paypal.

I have had 3 pinballs shipped NAVL. I have had NO PROBLEM Gorilla. They take it with the legs on and blanket wrap and take very good care of them.

I've noticed a couple of sellers on Ebay who are very specific about saying that if you pay with PayPal they will only ship to the billing address for the PayPal account. This must be why. Now it all makes sense!

    with this method

Thankfully it isn't a concern for me since I will always want the machine shipped to my billing address.

If any member who is a seller here needs to be aware of this!!
These scammers target the higher price pins

    #20 12 years ago

I put the "will not ship" in my ads to keep the scammers away. Has worked so far.

Lets talk about the 900 lbs gorilla in the room.

    The 49th parallel...

Who can chime in with information about cross border shipments? We have to deal with wonderful crap like brokerage, duty (heheh), and general non niceties.

    #23 12 years ago

    Fyi, I don't weigh 900...

    #24 12 years ago

I don't know about that. You look like you might have eaten a banana off the "one too many" tree.

Judging by that pic he is a pretty svelte gorilla!

    Oh, don't kid yourself.

His avatar is from his highschool days. This is what's currently on his monkey find date profile:

Damn Gorilla! You've really let yourself go.

    #28 12 years ago

Lmao!!!!! Careful, that pic is "nimblepin worthy" and who wants THAT rep?

    #29 12 years ago

    Heh, Don't worry.

My pic retort is limited to having to upload the picture manually instead of using UBB code. I'm too lazy to be this creative on a regular basis.

If the admins ever change that. Look out.
