Quoted from dts:

a new play field from CGC, a $900 value, with the original silk screen process of Williams, from the same manufacturer, not the printed version from overseas

So let me get this straight, the AFMr comes from the factory with an overseas printed playfield, but if you send CGC another $900 you can get one similar to the method Williams used to make them?

GLWS or trade!

Well that is what they are worth new anyhow. I picked up another for a deal as there is some insert crazing common to the silkscreen process and my ocd was kicking in... it plays better than the CQ original I had years ago. I’m here in Banning at the pinball museum and was again surprised by how the remake compares.

Oh, I didn’t answer your question in my rambling response! CGC makes the new play fields in Chicago with the same silkscreen process as Williams. In fact, they are made at the same place as the original play field by CGC, a division of Churchill Cabinets. So the Mirco playfields reproduced in Germany use a printer rather than the old silk screen process. My extra is from CGC. And as you know, crazing is just some small scratches on the inserts from belt sanding before silk screening the play field. Not structural and common with the old style of making playfields, but annoying enough to me that I got another.

I read somewhere they were using at least Mirco's art on the remake playfields. Maybe it was MMr. I don't know.

#6 3 months ago

Well, the cabinet is Churchill, playfields for AFMr and MMR CGC. Not sure about the plastics...

Deal fell through? I saw it posted a few weeks back IIRC.

Lots of interest but logistics seem to be an issue here in the middle of Oregon!
