For sale: No Fear: Dangerous Sports

Added: March 22nd, 2018 Ended: April 18th, 2018
Condition: Used - shows wear but 100% working and clean

Item description

Up for sale is my No Fear. This is the second time I am selling it. It was gone for about a year and then I had the opportunity to buy it back. Here is my ad from 2 years ago https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/archive/37403

The playfield looks great, the skull works, the drop target is smooth, the jump ramp works.

Basically, it plays great and should work for years. Over the time, I have owned it, I fixed most the common WPC resetting issues. All the fixes have been play tested for years. The game is rock solid.

This is not the prettiest No Fear. My game room is ugly, I'm ugly, and some of my games are a little ugly. This game is very faded; I believe I referred to it as the LE yellow version before.

The flippers don't match. When I bought the game they didn't match, so when I did a rebuild I bought new not matching flippers. I thought that was "X-treme" like the game... it cracked me up at the time.

The middle magnet is not hooked up. It was disconnected when I bought it and it plays well. I'm assuming the middle magnet is not good. The version 1 of the software caused the magnets to lock on. This also caused some distortion in the ramp. You can't see it, but it can be felt.

The bottom surface towards the front is a bit messed up. When I sold the game it was taken away in a pickup truck. The game was nicely wrapped, but a little water got on the chipboard bottom. None made it into the game or seems to have effected the plywood, but it had a bad effect of the surface of the chipboard. There are pictures below.

One last thing, the little mountain has a repair to keep it on. It's $34, but I decided to just patch it. Looks fine, but you can buy a new one if it bothers you.

Thanks! I'm not sure if the Allentown show has people sitting on their money or what.

I have been cleaning it and making sure everything is 100% for whoever buys it and I am loving this game again. The game's exterior is a little ragged, but it plays really well. I'm thinking an OCD board and color DMD and I'll just sell some Gottliebs to make some space. Old No Fear is the second game I bought. Maybe it should stay. Some call it hoarding, I call it sentimental

Is it the mis-matched flipper? http://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/20-9250-6

Did I mention that the legs are really shiny? I bought those when I had it the first time and they are still nice.

#13 1 year ago

Great deal for someone $2100 for a NFLEY plus shiny legs...Who can pass this up...All of my machines have rusty legs, hard to find shiny ones these days!

#14 1 year ago

Adding a picture of the 120V sticker. Game is not a re-import.

Quoted from Jesterfunhouse:

Who can pass this up.

Apparently lots of people can pass this game up.

I think I was a little too honest about the fading and the fuzzy surface on the bottom front. The game plays great and the cabinet is solid. Maybe I need to leave more discovery in the pictures and the pick up

Maybe this one is a keeper and something else should go. I have been playing it quite a bit and am starting to reconsider selling it.

You're living in a theme whore world now, and this has one of 5hebworst themes ever. Sad cause the game has some great stuff in it. Glws

I actually like the theme... it's timeless... if you are in the 90s

I had a Rollergames and the theme was my favorite part

And you're an angsty teenager who likes to skateboard, wears baggie cargo pants, and pretends to be good at all the sports, but lowkey loved to watch "Family Matters" when no one was looking.

What a time to be alive! Love these little cultural time capsules though. Good luck on the sale!

No Fears just take longer to sell. Be patient and don’t lower your price unless you absolutely need cash. It will sell, it will just take longer than other titles.

#20 1 year ago

I would be impatient and sell it NOW!

#21 1 year ago

Too far away for me to drive, and too costly to ship... but it's a fair price on an underrated game. If only you were closer... GLWS.

Rollergames is a fine theme because I lot of us grew up watching it. NF should be helped by the fact no one remembers its basically playing an Ed Hardy game and more extreme sports angle.

I enjoyed No Fear while I had one. I had no idea that "No Fear" was a brand, I just thought it was an extreme sports themed pinball machine.

I'll take it if you deliver to North Dakota

#26 1 year ago

Bring it to Allentown, it WILL sell there

#27 1 year ago

I think you should bite the bullet and make a homage to Allentown this year. Stay at my place midway and take two games up with you and sell for more then you have them posted here. NUMBER 1 engage!

I'm starting to think that putting the game in the free play area might make it easier to sell. I guess once it's at a show, I can't sell it as HUO... for the last 5 years

Nice! Allentown may be closer, but let me check a map...

Quoted from TheLaw:

I'm gonna drop this into the next Stern title thread. You may be onto something

I've gotten several people from Pennsylvania who want me to bring this to Allentown; the people of Virginia just don't love No Fear.

The jump ramp shot never got old to me...that's pretty impressive.

After some of the recent events in pinball, I am having more respect than ever for No Fear. I'm starting to wonder why I ever sold mine in the first place.

If pinside wasn't so narrow minded with what themes they want, this would be gone already.

GLWS!
