I haven't seen a lot of these, but mine doesn't have any of the aforementioned problems, so we'll have to exclude mine from op's broad stroke "all". In fact, my stand ups and megamode hole aren't as chewed up as op's either, so maybe his statement is just marketing hyperbole.
