Monster Bash Custom Painted Figures

Added: May 12th, 2015 Ended: December 1st, 2015

Item description

A friend of mine asked me to paint these game figures as some were not painted at all, and some really lacked the colors needed to make them pop. I dry brushed various acrylic paints , then clearcoated them for added durability. I can paint anyone elses figures on their MB for only 50 bucks for all plus shipping. It makes a huge difference. I hope you guys like them. Thx .....The Modfather

what's the turnaround time?

(I was thinking of buying a spare set to send you....until i calculated the cost to do that!)

#3 4 years ago

Trust the Modfather. If HEP sends him work to do for his games, well nothing more to say except love the BSD custom painted buildings!

Once I get them in , I generally paint them within a couple of days. Expect to get back all of your figures within a week. So , no worries guys. Just remove all of the figures including the table for Frankenstein. I like to paint the table to look like wood. Also , the brides dress can be painted in any color combination you like. I can also paint any other plastics for any game really, just let me know.

I just wanted to show another custom set of MB figures. A few differences from previous batches. He wanted the bride to be wearing a white wedding dress , the mummy is in tan and beiges , franks jacket is brown , creature is lighter and better facial details with gold stomach scales. Thanks to for the orders so far, its a pleasure doing these for the pinball community. For any specific color combinations , feel free to PM the details.

Bride is def. in need of painting...

I wonder if it wold look bad if I only sent that one off to paint?

(was thinking of buying a spare body to send you so the machine wasnt down fro the week)

She benefits the most, since she's got all that nice detail yet ZERO paint from the factory.

Mine's not as fancy, but here's the route I took w/ her:
Bride.JPG

Is it even worth painting Creature? He's under the green window so...you're not really going to see any of his detail. Maybe you see some of it when the flashers are going off?

#10 4 years ago

Eh... No sense just doing the bride I need the whole set.

Perhaps I'll just wat a few weeks into until the novelty of finally having the game starts to wear off a bit.

Right now, I don't want to have to take the game down for a week to wait

They look terrific! Are all the characters still available to buy as spare parts?

Yes- but they are expensive based on what I've seen.... Figure about $250 for everything except a new Frankenstein table...

How difficult is it to remove the figures? They look great and would love to have mine done but worried that it may be difficult to remove them.

And being that "fellow pinsider", just received and installed them today. They look fantastic in person. Great to work with. Thanks Chuck!

Another batch of characters for a fellow pinsider were done today, a little different from prior ones: the Bride's corset and cape are metallic blue, the mummy in beiges , tan color skin on Igor , Creature with scale pattern in gold and white eyes . The Drac is the same with purple bow tie, Frank with wine color jacket and light streaks in the table, I think they came out really nice.

They sure did - I especially like Frank's treatment in this batch. Nice work.

Thanks . i really enjoy painting these for MB owners. It really brings out the details in the plastic figures. I am very surprised some of these figures are not painted and have no color at all. A real upgrade that seems like it should have come from the factory. A great price at only 50 bucks to paint all of them.

Hey guys , I had the opportunity of having 2 sets of MB figures at the same time that i was commissioned to custom paint for two separate customers at the same time. Its neat to see the before and after pics for comparison of what some of the figures look like from the factory. Some figures are partially painted , while some have no paint on whatsoever. ( creech and mummy) . The bride has just her face painted , while the body is unfinished. I do enjoy painting these and would like to enhance every MB pinball machine out there. Hope you guys like them. The Modfather

If anyone is on the fence about this—DO IT!

I sent mine out to modfather, and they returned in a week looking absolutely amazing. He did such a great job and the communication was great.

Next, I plan to send him Bud & Buzz so my gofers can look as nice.

How difficult is it to remove and reinstall the figures? If not too difficult, I will do it.

Thanks

If you can figure out a way to get a spare set of figurines and do a cross-ship- im in!

Btw- id pay a premium over your asking price to do it.

Marco specialties sells the figures. They cost over 200 dollars for all of the replacements figures , not including frank. Taking them off is pretty easy to do. I would insure them when shipping to cover them in case they get lost in the mail. I generally paint them right away and ship them back insured for a couple hundered bucks. The upgraded painted figures are a real nice upgrade. My painting price is a bargain, as i want to paint everyones MB figures at a discount rather than paint some at a premium price. I also paint MET sparkys, well walkers, BSD village...etc

No - i agree- your price is a bargain for sure!

I was mostly trying to make a tongue-in-cheek rference to the fact that i dont want to be without my MB for a week

That "new pin excitement" hasnt worn off yet!

This was my set - it came out great, and I'm glad I went with the Blue/gold combo - if you are on the fence about it, please go for it, I was really happy with the paint job. (and its not too daunting to take/reinstall the figures either).

Here is the latest set of Monster Bash figures i just did for a pinsider. The brides dress came out really nice in metallic purple with the black background and gold trim. Special attention was spent on Igor with better hand and facial detail lines. The red patch on his leg with the thread lines looks cool. The thin blood drips on the mad scientist hands are nice with his silver hair.

I just wanted to show the latest batch of MB characters I did for a fellow pinsider. I like to change it up on my paint jobs to have some originality for each customer. The mummy was done in beiges but added darker browns this time. Igor has the copper chains and shackles (previous silver) . The creech was done in a lighter green with better facial details. The mad scientists is now wearing a blue shirt. The bride is as beautiful as ever wearing purple and black with gold bandages. I hope you guys like them. The ModFather

I'll be sending the MB figures from the game I'm restoring sometime in the next few weeks. The MET Sparky and STTNG toys I already had done look great!

Here is another set of Monster Bash figures I did for a pinsider. I changed up a few color combinations , just to keep it fresh and original. I used a new metallic green and copper on the creech. The bride looks good in a new color called peacock blue. I accented her bandages in copper this time, instead of gold. Paired up against the black background has a nice look. I also used copper on the chain and shackles on Igor instead of silver that I usually do.
