for sale

For sale: Excellent Ripley's Believe It or Not!

Added: June 10th, 2021
Condition: HUO - Undocumented (Home Used Only)

Price

$ 4,700

Use the Market archive as a reference for past sales data on this particular game.

Item description

Undocumented HUO RBION - it's condition tells the story - see pictures. Has Tilt Graphics side art blades, leg protectors, lighted speakers, Cliffy in the scoop and a headphone jack kit in the coin door. Plays and shoots perfectly. No broken plastics. Newer rubbers. Remote battery pack off the board.

I kept it with incandescent as I find it more suitable than LEDs on this game with the fading effects. Also has flipper button protectors - the right one is cracked...easily removed if you like....they are held on by the flipper button ring - no tape, screws or anything sticky. I have a set of cling-on flipper protectors I will include as well as a replacement.

Condition - Overall excellent. Cabinet is nearly flawless and is super bright. Playfield and shooter lane are excellent with evidence of only very low plays. I put a small piece of mylar on the shooter. I did not play it much as part of my 13 game collection.

Let me know if you have any questions or need more pictures of anything.

Prefer a sale, but might consider interesting trades for newer Sterns or JJP. I have another game on the way and do need the room. No shipping.

I've never seen those before!

#4 6 days ago

They were on there when I bought it and I didn't even think to ask! I hadn't ever seen that before either. Pretty simple concept that could even be a DIY.

#5 6 days ago

Probably could make a template first from cardboard to get the shape exactly how you want it, then draw it out on plexi. Cutout and file the edges. Good to go!

That's the one thing that stood out as unsightly to me: that thick edge also looks like it might be annoying. I'd vote for mylar instead.

I never noticed the thickness. Good news is they're easily removable if desired.

All time great game!

Bump.
I’ve never understood the market on this game. Meaning, code is spectacular and there is so much going on with this game. Amazed how it remains a sleeper and priced so reasonable.I’m on my 3rd RBIon! Game is so fun.

Thank you - and I agree. I am torn on even selling it...maybe I should just keep it?! I can always find room for one more pin! hmmm....

It's a tough word to use...I don't throw it around lightly and it's highly subjective. Maybe "near-mint" is better? It's nicer than most games I have purchased that were described as "excellent"? Maybe say nothing and just post pictures? What would you say?

I would say excellent. To me mint implies zero wear at all (except maybe some dimpling), like it came out of the box.

Thanks for your input. I'm thinking somewhere between excellent and "damn near mint" depending on the beholder.

Mint-ish sounds sexy!

lol...yes it does! I went with "excellent/minty". Ad updated...!!

#18 6 days ago

If you say mint, you got to show it, no cliffys to hide the wear. Based on the left inlane drop wear, not mint. Nitpicking though: it's a fine example.

Also, I hate it when people use "minty", and when they do, almost always guarantees it's not, ha.

#19 6 days ago

tough crowd. I may just say...see pics and stop by. lol. But yes, I do agree. MINT is NOT the right word. MINTY is in jest.

#20 6 days ago

Uff, we all worked hard to get rid of "Minty" and now it's back? Its as bad as "Undocumented HUO."

Theme whores plain & Simple

It's a great game. I remember when they were closing them out for $1700 new at the time. Still regret not picking one up.

Good game. Some folks just don’t seem to respect the power of a shrunken head.
