For sale: Meteor

Added: March 16th, 2018 Ended: April 6th, 2018
Condition: Used - shows wear but 100% working and clean

Item description

Looking to sell my Meteor. I have finally posted some pics. I tried to capture the game's condition. They are in kinda random order. I also need to wear some glasses when taking pictures... a few blurry ones in there.

It's a pretty nice game, but certainly not going to please the buyer looking for a perfect aesthetic experience. This game is a player and it plays pretty nicely. I'm not saying it's ugly; it's just not a fully restored game.

There are no LEDs in the game... My tastes run to the incandescent, but it's an easy game to shop if you like them lit up bright AF.

The playfield is nice with very minor wear on the rocket lights. The backglass has a few small nicks.

The cabinet is pretty nice with no major damage. I'm sure I could find a scuff or three, but it's pretty minor. The change door looks pretty good.

I do have a brand new set of drop targets from PBR. Those run about $70. The drop targets in the game are fine, but eventually they will need replacements .

Basically, it's a pretty nice survivor.

Added a ton of pictures; some are even in focus... bump

#3 1 year ago

Dropped by a $100 bump. Once I decide it must go, it must go.

I enjoyed this game, now it's time to find someone else who will love it for a while

#4 1 year ago

coyote loves his Meteor more than is understood by most pinsiders so he won't buy this game but will endorse it as a great machine "bump"...

#5 1 year ago

Everybody loves Meteor. It's a great game and I shouldn't sell it... Technically, I haven't sold it so there is still time to keep it forever; I just need a bigger garage.

I think a huge plus for this game is having the original spinner and original targets all in nice shape. I think it sucks the new targets available are not tombstones like the originals.

Good luck!

When I bought the new set, I wondered why the original style wasn't available. I've been told the original style isn't as strong, but these seem to have held up all right.

TBH, I don't know if they have been replaced before or not. I bought this game a few years ago from a collector in MD and it hasn't needed anything.

Old style Stern tombstones could be on the cards in a few months, someone I know of is working on replicating them in their spare time and looking for any weak areas that could be reinforced without being noticeable. I agree the new "hooded style" replacing the "tombstone style" don't sit well with me either.

That makes sense. But I have seen that PBR has certain types of tombstones available, so would be nice to add these to the offering. Oh well.

Yeah, I thought it was weird that they made these in the wrong style since they have the others available.

That's good news! It's good to see someone getting in there and making these right. Hopefully, they will have US distribution too. Shipping from Australia is pricey... I probably don't need to tell you.

Just wanted to say that if there is a pinsider local to this that would like to pick it up and play it between now and Pinburgh, and then transport it to Pinburgh... please let me know.

I dont have the ability to make it out to Richmond, but I have room to bring a game home form pinburgh...

I understand if you buy this machine you also get a damaged "Freddy" translite that I will give to the seller bump!

What about Allentown?

I unfortunately am full on the way back from Allentown. I stupidly told a local friend I would haul a game home from Allentown Should have just kept the space for me...

I am empty on the way home from Pinburgh.

Gotcha. If you want, I'll post in our local FB to see if anyone can accommodate the delivery to Pinburgh. I know there are a good number traveling up.

A little price drop on Meteor.

My garage is full, time to get some games moving. I'll be posting a few more I think. Time to knock this down to the essentials.
