Pictures of the back of the backglass would also help determine condition of it. You did take several of the front, which is also good. Did you triple thick the backglass?

Thank you for the suggestion Captive. I will post pictures of the 'back' of the backglass this evening after work.

No shit, this price is out of control. So if I paint my cabinet I can ask for this much $ for mine? BTW the thought would not even cross my mind...

Pinball is expensive. Being a jackass is free though.

#15 7 years ago

For that price you would think/hope that the T drop target is white. $3 at pinball resource.

He stated that all the drop targets are new.

There js a picture of the METEOR drop target bank out of the machine with all new targets. But it is a little confusing that all the playfield pictures show a yellow T target.

#17 7 years ago

Initially I already had the new drop targets included in the sale as well as new flipper assemblies but had not installed them.

I received constructive criticism and wound up rebuilding all the drop targets assemblies and installed the new drop targets and installed the flipper assemblies as well.

Per the paint and re-stencil of the cabinet - took me 2 months to complete between sanding down to bare wood, bondo, wood putty, spraying 'x' amount of primers coats and base layers - sanding between each coat, applying the stencils, and the eventual clearcoat.

Per the "profit" motive, rebuilding these machines are therapeutic for me and I probably have more into the machine than the sale price (parts and labor).

Do I think this machine commands this price? Yep.

Are the LEDs overkill and look like clown puke? Nope.

Does this machine look like a work of art in a corner of a home? Yep.

Do I feel confident that this machine will be enjoyed by other people and live on for another 30+ years? Yep.

Have I contributed to the hobby of pinball in a positive and supportive way? Yep.

Do I care what people think in Michigan (an area where I can by 10 homes for the price of mine in CA)? Nope.

I will make sure to notify you as soon as I sell it to a fellow pinsider.

To educate you:

Therapy - Treatment of a disease or disability, physical or mental

Therapeutic - Having a positive effect on the body or mind

As a Chief Risk Officer, I manage and underwrite a $9bn portfolio comprised of self-insured corporations with exposure in the State of California.

After working with numbers all day and having conversations with CEOs and CFOs (members of my fund), I "relax" by working on pinball machines

Oh, please, give me more advice, "bankrupt city".

#20 7 years ago

Your pinball machine is worth about $800. Sorry you're so butt hurt about it.

#22 7 years ago

Oh man, the price police on this tread are brutal. Very nice game OP! Best of luck with the sale!

I am a Marine.

My tolerance for "butt hurt" is quite high.

This pinball machine will sell at this price point.

Anything else you want to contribute to a 'for sale' ad that is not yours?

Well good luck with your sale Mr California Marine. And may god have mercy on your soul.

#27 7 years ago

Well..I still think it's a nice looking machine, and I am fully aware Cali prices are higher than say new england, for the machine and its location I think it will sell at asking price.

#28 7 years ago

I'd take this machine over the MI one any day of the week. Good work with the repaint and resto.

And OP, thank you for your service. It is because of people like you that we are able to speak freely and indulge ourselves in this hobby.

Your pillow weeps at night when you lay that 2 ton big ass fuckin head on it doesn't it?
Guess an ounce of humility must run bout 9,000,000,005 where you reside.

#30 7 years ago

After 8 years and 3 combat tours you learn plenty of humility, you also learn not to give a shit.

#31 7 years ago

Honestly, it's been a month. If it was going to sell at this price, it would've happened by now.

I would reassess and adjust accordingly

#32 7 years ago

Wow, Meteor is a cool game. It's a favorite in our local league. I have the movie poster over mine. Lots of people are surprised when they learn it was based on a movie.

<awful segue>

Speaking of surprised, I'm always a little surprised by the difference in regional pricing. When I bought my game, I thought I over paid a bit, but I do think it kicks ass. That said Cali pricing is higher than Virginia pricing. Virginia pricing seems to be a bit higher than Michigan pricing.

I need to coordinate pin purchases when I am visiting my mom in MI.

Good luck with the sale and remember to thank the PP for keeping your sales thread at the top.
