Looking to trade my Jurassic Park pro with a junk playfield for a Jurassic Park Pro with a not junk playfield.

Stern doesn’t think this planked and bubbly mess is bad enough to replace and I’m tired of looking at it.

This game would be perfect for someone with less than perfect vision.

Wow. That is atrocious. Stern is so pathetic.

#3 3 years ago

Yikes! Sadly I still have 20/20 vision but I know one old guy TaylorVA who is probably blind as a bat. Maybe he can be your huckleberry?

#4 3 years ago

I like your style, OP.
You made me smile.
Let's get you a replacement playfield already!
Oof!

#5 3 years ago

stern should be ashamed.

#6 3 years ago

This right here is why I’m not buying any more new Sterns. Quality has gone to hell ... give me an old Bally, Williams, Spooky or JJP! Thank you OP for calling them out

#7 3 years ago

Full transparency, the photo of the ball guide shows a clear bubble that has been split by the ball guide. It conveniently collects and stores wax for future use.

#8 3 years ago

Good to see my faith in Stern hasn't been misplaced.
Up to their same ole sh1t.
Sorry; OP... Good Luck with Trade.

#9 3 years ago

We’re you sent anything to fix the playfield?

#10 3 years ago
Quoted from Tsskinne:

A weird brown bottle of clearcoat, a dollar store paint brush, and a 2inx2in square of sandpaper.

#12 3 years ago

Just unbelievable. How can they say this passed a quality inspection?

#13 3 years ago

No offense but why did you accept the game? If I wouldve laid that down and saw that I'd wrap it back up and demand a different one or threaten to do a credit charge back.

#14 3 years ago

This is a hilarious thread!

#15 3 years ago

Great post!

#16 3 years ago

So is poor vision the only requirement for trade or are you going to trade plus cash?

#17 3 years ago

I got a new play field I could sell. Sold my jp a while back. Its just sitting in a box now.

I think he has accepted a pin NIB.

Now i don’t know who would accept that kind of trade.
OP would loose some bucks in the deal so better to buy a new playfield and pp. ok it is some work but you would gain some time as i highly doubt you find a deal. just my 2 cents.

#19 3 years ago

I would keep hounding Stern until they replace it. Call/email Chaz or Pablo every day until it gets resolved.

#20 3 years ago

Beatles was the most I'd ever spent for a pin.
Corner post bubbling and what looked like planking to the left of the spinning disk developed immediately.
Stern basically told me to go yodel.
Stern never receives .01 of my cash again, ever (not even if they make a Rush pinball).

Let this thread go viral and spread the truth to all.

Well, i understand you. I wonder how they work and especially how they clearcoat their playfield. When i had bought my GB pro, i wanted to close the right outlane by lowering the post. Then i tore off a piece of clearcoat and wood stuck with the post!

When i buy a nib game, i always install a pp now.

If you are so upset with Stern's Quality...Why buy another?

Support American Pinball, buy a Hot Wheels...It's an awesome pin.

I sent a pretty respectful but strongly worded email to Chas and then checked up on it Once a week for close to two months. They are ignoring me at this point. I asked the social media person for an alternative contact and they never replied.

This was after dealing with them for 6-7 months to come to the clear coat kit resolution.

This can't be true. My distributor tells me they take this very seriously

The distributor gave me credit towards my next game with him, which was awesome and he didn’t have to do.

I would just like this one fixed.

That's cool. Yours is one of the early ones, right? I don't see the circles around the posts that they added later. They definitely changed their process but they've only traded one set of problems for another. I'm not happy with the quality of mine and I guess I'm waiting for that supposed monthly committee meeting when Stern decides that they're not going to do anything about it. But still I hear they "take it very seriously," which is almost like adding insult to injury to say.

Did you try it?

#28 3 years ago
Quoted from TKDalumni:

Did you try it?

Nope. Didn’t exactly want to remove everything from the playfield to still be left with a crazy planked playfield and terrible clear touch ups all over.

#29 3 years ago

I would recommend having your distributor that you purchased the game from put some pressure on Stern to make it right.

#30 3 years ago

A few washers and Star posts would make it look better......Stern should be boycotted! I’ll be the first or second to say I will never buy from them again.

#31 3 years ago

So what’s the price where someone just says fuck it and buys it not caring about the soggy playfield?

#32 3 years ago

Look I don’t want to brag but I have a very large collection of authentic Ty Beanie Babies. Most even have tag protectors installed and several, are in plastic cases because their high dollar value. I suspect we could make a deal happen. Let me know if you’d like to negotiate.

Seriously fuck you stern!!!

How can they put there name on this shit and find this remotely acceptable? Anyone associated with them and lurking around here should be really proud of the shit box they call pinball and keep pumping out. Pathetic...

#34 3 years ago

Whenever I have an issue with Stern, quickest way for me to catch their attention is to blast them on social media. I know not everyone has an account, but last couple times I tagged them in a post I had on Instagram and they contacted me pretty quick to resolve the problem.

#35 3 years ago

This is a pro and in Stern's eyes they are for location so that PF is acceptable. I've had issues with the PF on my LE's and they were very accommodating. I'm not saying it's right since many collectors buy pro's for their collections such as yourself but sadly it does factor into how they handle quality issues.
