That depends on how you connect the gate. If you connect it following the instructions on my site http://pin-mods.com/jp-gate.html they will come on only during the usual mode. However, you can connect it to your GI and it will always be lit. I offer two options: flickering LEDs that imitate candle light and steady bulbs that just remain on. If you wire it to the GI, I recommend the flickering bulbs.
