One of the few machines that I sold and had to have back. Just bought a very nice one to make a permanent part of the collection or I'd be seriously considering the seller's machine. I've owned most modern Sterns and a clean, waxed JM makes them all seem slow. If you're in the hobby mainly to play, this is a ton of machine for $4k. Yea the license sucks, but Gomez did an unbelievable job integrating the theme and the playfield geometry is basically perfect (not sure how the same guy designed BM66 and Avengers). Good luck.

I couldn’t agree with this sentiment more as I just went out and had to get another one. The game is fast and fun with fantastic integration.

Good luck with your sale as this is a nice looking pin. I am always baffled at the pricing of JM and Shadow compared to other pins.

Had to shave off a hair to get it to fit, so yes I’m at the limit LOL

God, I want this so bad.

#11 1 year ago

One of the, if not the most underrated machines of 90's era imo. When you get on roll with yakuza strike, spinner minions and started up the multiball there is no other game that plays faster. Just fantastic.

I saw this in person when I bought Rob's Baywatch, which was just as nice. It looks even better in person and his games were very well maintained. He even helped us pack the hell out of the thing and move it up and out. Nice dude and nice games!

Nice pin, I had a sweet one similar to this one but in chrome, I do miss it. What kinda of dot controller board is that?

Thanks, don’t remember what kind of controller off the top of my head. It is an uncommon new aftermarket one that I haven’t seen for sale in years. Got a few people kicking the tires on this currently. Been playing it every few days and man it sure is fast and fun.

Nice example bump.

Any one coming from that area to the Louisville or indy area? I want this but can’t drive the 7 hrs one way

Theme. That's basically it. If JM were "The Matrix" and if The Shadow wasn't based on some terrible movie, they'd both be up there with AFM and MM in my opinion. I'd prefer both JM and Shadow over TOTAN.

I could swear The Shadow jumped in price after Aurich's awesome art package for that game .

This particular JM is worth the asking price. That machine looks restored to the 9s !

GI OCD (REV 4 WITH BREAKOUT PCB) installed today. JM has lots of dimming of the General Illumination bulbs during gameplay, now the LEDs dim beautifully.

Personally I wouldn't, but they are both sweet games, just up to what you enjoy playing more I think.

Probably never find a nicer Jm, if you missed iron man you could always get another later on down the line

Since you asked It matters how much cash. Obviously you have seen how long this has sat. He has looked to sell without the color dmd and started asking for trade. I would put that all into perspective for your cash deal because if this was a great pin at this price it would be gone a long time ago

It is a very nice looking Johnny. If I was getting a good chunk of change I would do it

#37 1 year ago

I could have sold it to 4 other PinSiders already had I agreed to deal with shipping, but I’m not interested in dealing with shipping companies with this one (if the cab gets damaged during shipping you are not going to be able to get replacement cabinet decals like the ones that are currently on it) So had I agreed to assisting with shipping it would have been gone a long time ago, within the first week I had it up for sale I could have sold all the way to California.

IMO, Johnny is a better game than IM and I wouldn’t hesitate to make the change. Seems like JM was the inspiration for IM when it comes to flow of the ramps & orbits, and even some of the rules like Yakuza Strike vs. Bogey. Plus it has a better toy, deeper rules, and great animations/sounds. Hard to find a JM like this in excellent condition, especially the hand mech., compared to plenty of nice IM’s. Theme is the only reason that a fun but basic game like IM is more in demand/expensive then a classic, unique machine like JM.

I’ve owned a JM for almost 7 years. It’s a wildly cool game. If it were themed anything other than JM, it would be a $6k pin.

Personally, The theme doesn’t bother me. The game play, itself, overshadows it.

Someone is asking about IM Vs JM. Both fun games... very different styles of play with some similarities. Personally, I’d make the trade because you can always get IM back.

Do it!
