Played this machine in person, it’s one of the best playing Jackbots out there. Great seller here also. Buy with confidence.

Hoping this will still be here in a month

I honestly don’t know how this isn’t gone yet. If I had the spare coin I’d scoop it up for this price.

#12 4 years ago

$3200 bump
I know it’s priced more than fair considering past sales, probably just bad sales timing after holidays

I mean....I haven't kept up with things...but I paid GAP 3300 for the sample Jackbot I had shipped, and the shipping company basically tried to destroy. Cabinet looked a lot better than this one, even after it ending up upisde down on it's head. I ended up having to sell it for 2500 to get it moved out, and that was AFTER cleaning out all the busted glass, re-clearing the playfield, adding LEDs yadda yadda. Sure, part of it was the whole bullshit "BuT iT's A sAmPlE gAmE sO iT's InFeRiOr" thing (because of the locks being different. Mine worked fine, and the buyer clearly agreed.)

Not arguing your price one way or the other, just providing a reference point. Personally, I'd delist it, hold it until april, then relist it when everyone's looking for ways to waste their tax refunds.

Sample games are ridiculously inferior. Probably why you had to dump yours so cheap.

Gap is typically way way way overpriced. It’s crazy people buy from him so I’m sure you’re probably right or he would have had it listed for $4500

I hate to dogpile, but is it just because of the saucers?

I'll shoot you a PM. Not going to give trolls more ammo.

*edit* and it's not really relevant to this thread anyways.

It's not trolling. It's a real thing.

The sample Jackbot saucers reject shots as bad as WMS Indiana Jones mode start saucer. No fun trying to start multiball. Production games stick the saucer shots fine; the holes are deeper.

Not if you know how to fix them they dont. Very easy fix too.

So what't this easy fix? When I had an IJ, I moved the metal backstop back about 1/4", lowered the plastic saucer about 1/8" by adding washers and longer screws, also used dead-stop foam, also bent the walls inward a bit to funnel to the center of the hole... all of that got the mode-start to about 90% retention but I wouldn't exactly call it an easy fix. What's the easy JB fix?

Just 2 pieces of ball dead drop foam under the visor over top of the saucers and the balls stick like glue.

I’ll do 3k bump other than that it’s getting pulled and relisted higher around tax return time!

Doesn't exist. People have tried everything. The only thing that would apparently work would be installing the production locks, which would require some modification (drilling/routing) of the playfield.

Most (all?) people decide it's just not worth the trouble and sell it. My solution, before selling it, was to set multiball 3 to easy to compensate for all the rejected jackpot shots.

You might get lucky, but even on the West Coast here where prices are generally higher, Jackbot goes for around $2000-$2500 (maybe a super-nice one for $2800). One of the few bargains left in pinball as it's a great game.

#30 4 years ago

Haven't shopped my JB in a while, but I'm pretty sure production games have scoops vs the saucers a sample game would have...

Correct. I fixed my sample JB lock issues very, very easily. Didn't require tools or modifications of any kind.

I simply sold it. Problem fixed!

I mean it takes 2 seconds to search what the pinside estimated value is. It says about 27-3100. If they’re working and at least 5/10 I’ll buy all of the $2000 Jackbots you can find lol

Well, shipping would kill that silly proposal as you know, but they're here if you can find them, and probably even cheaper in the southeast. I've run through a couple good ones around $2k in the last 3 years (one was Japanese, and I didn't realize until I couldn't get a quarter in the slots!). Pinside estimated value is often way off, as it is in this case. Lots of "not sold, decided to keep" and "sold elsewheres" aren't figured into that guess, so it is a VERY GENERAL idea, and often just plain wrong.

Hey! That proposal is not silly, saying a Jackbot is worth 2k is silly
The prices on games have changed A LOT over the past 3 years. I saw a Creature From the Black Lagoon sell for $3200 three years ago, so by the same logic I can use that as justification for my appraisal of a CFTBL in today’s $’s? I don’t think so
