but...amulet keychain!

Is this a re-import? I could swear this exact game was in a pub in italy in 2001. Are the legs original and have the levelers ever been extended more than 45 threads from full down position?

I have no idea why I'm going to do this. I don't normally do this. But what the hell.

LED upgrade - Way too many colored LED's. I'd redo it if I bought it.
ColorDMD Display - well done!
Animated jackpot lights upgrade - that's cool.
Powder Coated pistol - should have been plated.
Powder Coated ball cages - should have been plated.
Mini Figures from scene - don't care.
Mini Tank and German soldiers - don't care.
Unique Cobra from scene - really don't care!
Upgraded highly detailed planes (stock planes included) - these are really cool!
Animated jackpot lights upgrade - cool I guess.
Cabinet in new 1992 condition - I see wrinkling around the legs.
LED upgrade - already listed.
Ark of Covenant topper - NOPE!
Chalice topper - another NOPE.
Indiana Jones whip topper - don't care.
Missing plastic - that's cool.
Indiana Jones Passport - nope.
Pinball glass by invisiglass that's cool.
Cabinet protectors - they're only there to cover the artwork wrinkling.
Amulet keychain - whatever.

If you want to sell a HUO game for this kind of money, you need WAY more pics of the inside. I want to see pics inside of the head. I want pics of the inside of the cabinet. And I want pics of the underside of the playfield. HUO games have wire harnesses that still shine. I need to see that.

I'm also curious why there are brass siderails and a stainless lock down bar. Did they come this way?

I have no issue with the price. Ask what you want but your ad isn't doing you any favors.

Oh, and your sling plastics are cracked.

The horror, having to keep an IJPA

#14 1 year ago
Quoted from Bryan_Kelly:

Cabinet protectors - they're only there to cover the artwork wrinkling.

Unfortunately (at least in this case) they don't cover the artwork wrinkling, they just cause more of it outside of the area of the protector which is shown in these pics, and is pretty much a deal killer for someone looking for a really mint IJPA. Also, replacement decals wrinkle, the stock screen printing directly on the cabinet doesn't wrinkle on IJPA, so I'd say these are replacement decals, and the "cabinet in new 1992 condition" does not really apply here.

Quoted from Bryan_Kelly:

Good catch. I only wanted to pay $ 21,480 so now I feel better.

#16 1 year ago

IJ is the most overhyped overpriced game in all of pinball. I wouldn't pay more than 8k for one.

#17 1 year ago

It’s about as nice as mine, which is a re-import from China (lot’s of Chinese labels on the wiring).

It used to smell funky (cigarettes etc) when I bought it about 22 years ago. That has gassed out after two decades.

I couldn’t sell it for less than $2k many years ago (those were the days!) but maybe I should try selling it for $20k nowadays?

Nah, it’s a keeper, even though I don’t like it because I suck playing pinball. Those impossible ramps! Not sure how people can hit them repeatedly.

I'd say that's incorrect. IJ had plywood that came from the factory with a vinyl layer factory installed. The art was applied to that. This will appear like a decal but it actually isn't. Most games of this era were like this.

Since this is now just a thread to reminisce about various IJs we’ve owned, I’d like to say I’ve had two of them.

They were both pretty nice!

I sold them at prices that were at the high end of the market at the time and I was happy.

I also had a Stern IJ. It was in mint condition!

I couldn’t get rid of it fast enough. Without a doubt tied with Hook as the worst DMD game I’ve ever owned.

Pm me if you want more details on the IJ pinball machines I’ve owned.

I’ve also had like 10 Jackbots which I’d be happy to discuss.

#20 1 year ago

Wasn’t IJPA built in 1993? 1992 cabinet condition would be a pile of parts and bare wood? I’m just fucking around playing semantics.

OP, pay attention to what Mr Kelly said. Remove some of those cheesy figurines (mods). Replace those sling plastics (they’re cheap). Post pics inside the cabinet and backbox. Detail the condition of boards, mechs, harnesses. I’ve always had a thought when selling games-a picture per $250 of price. You’ve posted more than most ever will and I applaud you for that, but you really need more for this title, condition and price.

#21 1 year ago

Breaking my rule on not commenting on for sale threads but I'm genuinely curious.

Is "new (out of box)" the new HUO?

#22 1 year ago
Quoted from Bryan_Kelly:

The rails almost look powder coated. The legs are brass... the rails are either brass or powder coated to look like brass, stainless lockdown bar, and black hinges and door.

Is there a reason why the lockdown bar doesn't match?

I've restored many IJ's but it's been a while. I'm pretty sure the trim is stainless and the legs are brass. Not sure why you would powder coat the siderails and not the lockdown bar.

So another 10,000 game listed for over double it’s value? Can we skip to the part where sellers are forced to be more realistic yet?

Good lord it’s exhausting weeding through endless “moonshot” for sale ads.

*squints to look at the keychain*

Hey...that actually is pretty cool.

#28 1 year ago

They have to be knockoff replacement cabinet decals because the original "Lucasfilm Ltd. All rights reserved" copyright text is missing from both the cabinet sides and coin door artwork print.

GLWTS! I hope you get what you're asking for it because that would mean my HEP IJ is worth about $30k. (Don't tell anybody though...because it isn't.)

There’s a HEP IJPA listed for $28k soooo….

Quoted from The_Pump_House:

That’s a really dated example. I would say probably 2006-2007 because none of the resting brackets or internal parts are nickel plated in case anyone is interested in the potential date of completion.
I am asked often when these games pop up.
I hope these games don’t get that expensive but when the beat donor games are going for over $10k and everyone wants everything plated, polished, modded etc it’s making the total cost pretty high for IJ lately.

that's helpful. I was curious when it was done. Amazing how 15 years later it still looks great. I love my HEP SS and can't wait to follow the restore of my TZ, I watch the HEP thread daily with interest and know it will get to the top of the heap eventually lol.
