This most definitely is not a prototype, there are several things on the playfield that are not of prototype. One was stated earlier about the “dad” script. Another big giveaway is the scarab between the flippers. Prototypes have the wings spread out further than this one.
Prototype and early production IJs do share a lot of features. No buy in button, metal rails on POA, jackpot insert color and lit speaker panel inserts are shared. Supposedly the first 250 production IJs have these shared features.
I am of the opinion that IJ is the most mistaken prototype game out there because of this.
I wouldn’t say this pin is over priced without giving it a real good look. Aside from the obvious ware on playfields, things like board set, idol assembly and cabinet condition (who cares about fade). If all these things checked out, I’d say it’s a decent price.
I currently have two IJs and one is an early production like this one. I’ve owned 9 or 10 IJs, I’ve restored a few and am in no means price bumping or policing this. I just have enough experience with IJs to know what’s out there and what things are worth.
I also think this one is a scam ad.
