    Ebay + PayPal = 13%

    That's pushing $1K in fees

    #52 8 years ago
    Quoted from Grinder901:

    Why hasn't this sold yet?

If it sold in a day or 2 - id suggest it would have been priced too low!

Like I said, I'm not in a hurry.... I know the price police need to weight in, but at least try to "price police" with a shred of objectivity....

If you can find a ACDC pre. That's sold publicly in the last 30 days for less, please link it. Even eBay, which is usually awash with overpriced pins, had ZERO listed. Closest listing was one posted for $8k - which was ended early... (Likely sold off - eBay).

I didn't list it with paypal as an option.... For that and other reasons....

I'm sure that's what most people did when they read this:

Sold mine last month for more than $1k less than you are asking.

    OK

    Ebay = 10%

You need to break $7,000.00 to net North of $6,200.00

Good luck. It's not on my wishlist so I've got no skin in this game. I'm interested but unaffected by the outcome. Sorta like Prom lol

Other than the fact that you sold yours last month for a LOT less, im not sure why you'd have a problem with that statement.

There's very little hyperbole in that listing. Or are you suggesting that ACDC premium prices have NOT been on the rise lately?

Btw - I wouldn't have expected many people yawning since they could have skipped the whole thread if they weren't interested .

    #59 8 years ago

Great game. My gut is you'll get $6500. Good luck with the sale.

    #60 8 years ago

    Yup, great game Glws

    #61 8 years ago

I know of 2 that sold for 5500 and 5800 in the past 3 months. Like you, many people want to avoid ebay/paypal, so you did not see them anywhere public. They traded hands for fair prices among local owners.

In general terms, if a game sells immediately on Pinside then you have it priced too low or it is a highly desired game with low supply. There are lots of ACDC out there and from what I have been told, a good chance we will see another run after Stern gets settled down in the new factory. This has been a good seller for them and they still need to fill some time between now and the next title (since current new models are not selling well). I do like how evenyou have obviously heard this and have the "currently out of production" in your listing to acknowledge that only at this exact time are they not producing ACDCpremium versions on the line.

As always the market will dictate the price, but I would guess if you hold steady at 6800 then you are limiting yourself to a local buyer that needs it right now. Few people are going to even consider $400 extra in shipping when priced this high.

Most likely is that you in fact intentionally priced it high hoping to get some people chiming in and keeping this thread bumped. You are manipulative like that and tend to have forethought in most of your postings.

GLWS, you are going to need some luck when priced this high.

    Manipulative?

I'd find my "pot calling the kettle black" from your legendary Predator postings, but WhysBother....

Yes, my opinion is based on an actual sale. Just as you asked for proof of.

    Remember?

    Quoted from lowepg:

I've looked for an AC/DC Premium for sale to compare it to - and literally cant find even ONE!
I'd be happy to reevaluate the price if I can find a couple that have sold cheaper... but - in the last month - I haven't seen any.

    Clear or cloudy window?

who told you that ? Gary has already said AC/DC is finished & the term of the license is expired so don't think anymore will be run unless they renew that license

    #66 8 years ago

    Clear or cloudy window?

Good question. Better question is: When did Stern fix the cloudy window problem? Anybody have an exact time frame on that?

    Before Luci was ever created.

    Clear or cloudy window?

Did anyone ever figure out a way to make the cloudy ones non-cloudy? Or is it not feasible due to how it is fastened/bonded? I always worried that even my Luci could cloud up over time since plastics do that sometimes. If it did and there is a proven way to fix it I would worry less.

Gary always says this and then re-licenses games and runs them anyway. Anything he says regarding license expiration should be taken with a grain of salt. I'd put money on another run of ACDC Premium at some point in the future. I also think we'll see Met Premium with a new art package as well.

If they try to renew the license I would wager the cost goes way up due to the original popularity. In this scenario if Stern does not believe it can roll the increase into the price of the game you can kiss a vault edition bye bye. I have seen this before with several merchandise arrangements in my business.

You can't make the cloudy ones non-cloudy. You can improve them very slightly with a good cleaning/polish, but you can't get it clear.

Yup. I heard Gary said the same thing about Tron and IM before rerunning those. Who knows if we'll see more ACDC or Met Premiums, but don't take Gary's word that we won't.

    Quoted from jruddr:

    Clear or cloudy window?

Id say, pretty clear- but I don't have much to compare it to....

I couldn't figure out how best to photograph it- with or without the game on, the LEDs are soo bright it tended to add so much glare that it made it harder to see the glass itself...

So I think the best photos are with the game off- just to focus on glass....

So for those who've seen multiple acdc's, how would you characterize this "clearness"?

as clean as they come . very nice

    #78 8 years ago
    Quoted from luch:

as clean as they come . very nice

Well, clear, but could be cleaner

Full disclosure, as I had my nose pressed up against the window taking pictures, I could see it actually could use a light wipe-down- there some slight gunk down near the flippers. I've never removed the Lowe PF- so haven't had the chance to do any cleaning down there....

    #79 8 years ago

You kept my lower playfield really nice. Thanks for that.

    #80 8 years ago

oh when your down in the lower playfield , put superbands on

    #81 8 years ago
    Quoted from luch:

oh when your down in the lower playfield , put superbands on

I've been reticent to mess with it, but perhaps I should. I think one of the targets could use a slight adjustment anyways.

Wiping down the underside of the window would actually make it look even clearer than it shows today, but I never felt the need..... Until right now

    #82 8 years ago

So are gonna sell it to the beezle or what?

He's all up in your F'S thread w/money & buying signals

    Just do it!

    #84 8 years ago
    Quoted from beelzeboob:

Okay, I tell you what: I'll give you $6500 for it and I'll meet you in Baltimore to make the transaction. Can't get there till after dark, though.

    Hey. Easy now

    #85 8 years ago

Funny thing is...that may be exactly the way it goes down.

    #86 8 years ago
    Quoted from lowepg:

People aren't asking for your opinion on the cloudiness of the window, they are asking whether the pin was made before or after Stern fixed the known issue with the cloudy lower PF windows..

I don't remember exactly when the correction was made at the factory, but your Premium either has the old (cloudy) version, or the new (clear) version.

Does anyone remember when Stern corrected this issue?

    #87 8 years ago
    Quoted from RobT:

Does anyone remember when Stern corrected this issue?

I think starting with the second run they were all clear. I'm not sure when exactly that was, though. Mine had a clear window. It was manufactured on September 25, 2012.

    #88 8 years ago

I know for a fact it was fixed before Luci. That was one thing that made me sell my old Premium for her.

    #89 8 years ago

Take a few pics of the window near & far with the machine on

    That will settle all questions

I misunderstood the question then.... I assumed there was more interest in whether the window WAS ACTUALLY CLEAR rather than trying to guess at the date they fixed it

Either way, this one was made April 8, 2013. At the time, I recall people discussing it was fixed in the run PRIOR to this one, but I don't recall there ever being a definitive date.... please feel free to share if anyone knows it.

No, because there was no such thing as an ACTUAL CLEAR window before they fixed the issue, comparatively speaking.

    True story.

I'm fairly sure that is after the issue was addressed, but I'm not positive.

    #93 8 years ago

I saw a BIB on location with window that made me cry...cloudy with a chance of meatballs.

    Ok, I get it.

I just did a search of pinside for "acdc window cloudy fix" and a few other iternations.

    Result:
No "clear" answer however, SEVERAL threads dating back between 800-1000 days ago talk about the lower PF issue being resolved. So, I would suggest that's anecdotal evidence that it was resolved PRIOR to my 752-day-old machine

PS (to no one in particular), sometimes I wish pinside actually listed the DATES posts were made...

You must have had one of those old cloudy ones.... Experts here are telling me they are worth MUCH less.

If you want to see the DATE of a post, move your mouse over the first section that says "X month ago" and click on it.

You will then see the DATE/TIME Stamp of the post.

Yes, I am almost positive that yours was made after Stern fixed the issue.

Well, I would certainly rather have one with a clear window after the fix, so yes, I would think those would be worth a bit more. $1k more? Not a chance.
