Item description

Just finished a lot more upgrades to this first-generation Sega (later made by Stern) Harley Davidson pinball machine that has undergone significant restoration. The game is in excellent working order and should serve for many many years to come. I am a collector not in the habit of selling except when I end up with a duplicate and did all the work on this machine assuming it would stay in my collection, not to turn it around.

New color LED display (PIN2DMD) these energy-efficient displays are much more reliable than the original orange plasma displays that wear out

New Rottendog DMD004 DMD driver/controller board

New Cliffy metal hole protector. The hole is not in bad shape but I install them on all machines

Flipper rebuilds on both sides, with new end stops, plungers, linkage, springs, coil sleeves, nylon flipper bushings, crank bars, and upgraded silicone orange rubbers

New PerfectPlay silicon rubbers throughout the entire game

LED general illumination lighting, LED lighting in harder-to-access locations like pop bumpers and playfield toys, incandescent lighting on some inserts, this game uses a lot of lighting fade effects so the inserts in my opinion look better incandescent, if you wanted to upgrade the inserts to LEDs it would be easy in this game since all the hard to get to locations are already upgraded.

Rebuilt drop targets all new targets, reset bars, pivot shafts, coil sleeves, and springs, and reversed endplates. Most people do not go above and beyond to do this work but its important for this game

Replaced many targets and switches including almost all the expensive red modular stand-up targets in the front that take the biggest beating

NVRAM upgrade so the game no longer requires AA batteries to remember scores and settings. This avoids the potential of a battery acid leak damaging the circuit boards.

Includes variable speed control on shaker motor enabling you to dial in how much shaking is desired

Refurbished legs, with brand new leg levelers with felt bottoms to protect floors, new extra long chromed leg bolts, and new leg protecting plastic bolt spacers.
Rebuilt jets

Metal plastic protecting washers in places like slingshots were replaced with new transparent PETG fender washers to allow more light thought

Updated lighting, with new backbox fluorescent bulb, fluorescent start, and replaced incandescent bulbs and flashers as needed on the playfield with a few strategic LEDs. I think this game looks great in incandescent bulbs but if you want to go LED I can do that for you.

New red buttons and easily removable black mylar button area protectors to keep paint from wearing off

Repaired damaged strip on mylar on the playfield that is often found warn away from the next city scope ejects, worn section my surgically excised and replaced with a new section. There is a small bit of paint missing near Mount Rushmore under the mylar.

Replaced the “Next City” scoop eagle plastic with a 2nd generation plastic and new 44 lamp socket.

Other typical repairs like replacing rubbers as needed, adjusting leaf switches, extensive play testing, and so on.

Condition information
Inside the backbox is really ideal condition, the boards are original, hack free and there is no acid damage, hardly could ask for better.

The playfield is in surprisingly good shape for a game that was likely on location at some point in its life. There is a factory-installed, game-specific mylar protector covering the vast majority of the playfield that had a section of it repaired. The mylar protector could be easily removed. There is typical light wear on some of the roll-over switches.

The cabinet artwork is somewhat faded and there is wear near buttons that has been repainted to blend in now with the cabinet artwork and black mylar protectors installed. Typical scuffs from being moved and with age.

Some plastics are cracked

This machine will not disappoint, for the Harly fan, the pinball fan, or both. It's in great shape ready to live another 20 years
