Quoted from Medisinyl:Plenty are perfectly happy with the game as is, but many (myself included) find the scoring to be too imbalanced as it sits, and that can be frustrating, which is a shame, as the game shines in many other aspects.
I'm in this camp as well, but I think the scoring is way more than imbalanced, it's just poorly conceived. I also found many of the modes to be really, really boring. The shot choreography is also "off"...that is, how sounds coordinate and identify shots. I owned it for 5-6 months and rarely played it...replaced it with a Rush LE that is a fast flow fest with sensible scoring. No doubt GNRLE is more beautiful than RUSHLE, but I buy games to play, and Stern just has teams that know what they are doing. I admire Eric's design work on GNR (along with whomever is programming the graphics on the LCD), however it's just an ambitious game that didn't come together and fire on all cylinders. Still has a huge following...we all like different stuff.
