Why would I mark a box sitting in my garage as fully paid for.

It seems some are financing these now. Even distributers are offering trouble free loans. Not interest free though.

Really?!? Wow, pinball financing, that sounds like a bad idea, kinda like financing a fancy watch, makes no sense to me, but to each their own.

Wow! Thank you for all the thread bumps everyone!
The GBLE is still for sale
All PMs have been responded too
All offers countered
It is a fully paid for pre-order. Why would I mark a box sitting in my garage as fully paid for. I apologize for any confusion, as I was just repeating the Pinside condition drop down.
Why a thread? Because pinside charges upfront fee if you decide to avoid a discussion thread.
FYI, I'm not a flipper, this is my first pinball for sale ad ever. Ghostbusters is a dream theme but if I can make extra money for my family and move down to a premium then I'm going to try and do it.
I also think my price is fair considering my large out of pocket, how long I've had it on deposit, etc. I also figured now was the best time to sell it, before I see it, because then I'll probably never let it go.
Thank you

Flipping by definition is buying something and than turning around and selling something quickly in order to make a profit. You haven't even played the machine! Sorry Flippy McFlipperton. Lol!

Those that are offering it made it sound like a great idea. lol.

But I prefer Teekee's method. SEND MONEY NOW!!!

Quoted from CaptainNeo:

that's true, but when you try to make money on a game that hasn't even showed up yet. Seems to take more of a toll on people.

"CaptainNeo" Really? I love you man and "no you can't have my beer". CaptainNeo, I never thought I would see the day, we wouldn't agree. Let him make his money man.

What's it called when you over pay for something upon release because of the hype and then a couple months later you decide it sucks so bad you can't wait to get rid of it but nodody will pay you anything close to what you did?

It's called SUCKER. I know because that's what happened with me and METLE.

If you need 'extra money for your family' maybe buying NIB Premium pinball machines isn't the best move, granted I'm not a financial advisor.

A financial advisor would NEVER say that….

Wow, did I say I NEED money, no I don't need money. Exactly what I said was,

"Ghostbusters is a dream theme but if I can make extra money for my family and move down to a premium then I'm going to try and do it."

So thank you for your concern about my finances

Very, very smart! Good luck with the sale... and don't apologize to anyone for doing what you're doing. They only wish they could be as cool as you... and me! JUST NOT POSSIBLE!

Nothing wrong with that, but you probably already paid too much for this one anyway.

Tacshose - I, for one, offer you full exoneration which, btw, you don't really need. This is a very well designed and information rich site. The only item I've had an issue with is the limitations imposed by the drop down menu's in the Market area. I understand their value but they do lead to slightly incorrect information at times.

Also, sell your machine for whatever you can get. Just as posters opine that the buyers create the "nightmares on Stern Street" situation, it is the same with re-sales. Ask what you want and someone can buy it or not. These are first world issues not health, hunger or safety related.

I wish you the best outcome and hope you stay with and enjoy this hobby!

Seems to be just normal advertising, nothing new to overly hype this game it's not like there is commercials on TV or adds on CNN most of the hype is spread word of mouth I could ask all my family and friends and not one would have a clue it exists in less I told them. Guess my point is Stern did nothing special to hype this game and extreme hype is being generated by the community itself.

I'm just stating it as an observation. I've noticed anytime someone tries to sell a game before they even get it for a markup, there seems to be a ton of slack for it.

Reading this thread, one would think that Stern has never delivered a game before.

Ghostbusters was just announced in March. Everyone will get their games.

Remember, these machines are hand built. The world has gotten faster with the internet and cell phones, but it still takes Stern the same amount of time to build a machine.

I don't think anyone is afraid of not getting their games. They just need to learn how to communicate. If they are going to advertise a game for sale, and promote it, then they need to be willing to answer some relevant questions. They just have a very crappy attitude towards their customers, which will eventually bite them. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but it will catch up with them somewhere.

But what is there to communicate? It will be the same message every time: "Hey, it takes us a few weeks to put a game into production after we announce it. We have delivered every time. If a couple month wait for you is unacceptable, then we suggest you purchase a machine from one of our competitors....just let us know in a couple years when your machine is finally delivered...if it ever is."

#173 7 years ago

You seem upset that everyone doesn't have in their possession a game that was just announced in March.

Your post is exactly why Stern shouldn't be dealing with the end users one on one.

What's a target production going to accomplish? If I had to guess, Ghostbusters probably already has 3,000 orders. How do you give a target date for that? What happens if their next release is an even bigger hit? Star Treks are still being built 3 years after being introduced.

They can only build them so fast. The world around us has gotten faster, but it still takes the same amount of time to screw a ramp to the playfield as it did 20 years ago.

#174 7 years ago

I guess people just want Stern to give out meaningless dates ando keep pushing them back Seriously I'm sure Stern is doing everything that can to get pins out there door sit back and releax.

Haven't we learned that dates are meaningless? IMO, every other pinball company has made target dates rather meaningless.

Let's look at Stern's track record. They announce game. Few months later, people have the game. What more could anyone ask for?

Secondly, anything that is hand built and travels thousands of miles, may need tweaking. That's just the nature of the beast.

#177 7 years ago

Heres' the thing, Stern is getting their games out the door. They have a world market they are selling too. They can make only so many a day. And those machines are shipped everywhere.

And exactly how should Stern be upfront and honest? I don't think they expected Ghostbusters to be this big of a hit. Thus, causing the schedule to get changed. The message in December is A, then in January it changes to B, then it February it changes to C, then March is D. They are selling 15,000 machines a year (my best guess). Who wants to deal with 15,000 people asking where their machine is. Only reason why JJP can have such a personal relationship with their customers, is because they don't have the volume. If they ever reach 10,000 games a year, kiss that personal relationship gone. Won't be feasible anymore.

#178 7 years ago

I believe Stern themselves have said not to order games unless distributors have them in stock, because Stern knows that there are things out of their control that causes unforeseen delays. Meaning it is nearly impossible for them to give accurate dates, but everybody has to be the first on the block to have the latest and greatest.

"I am not perfect and I have made mistakes in my life"

#182 7 years ago
Quoted from Manimal:

You so make my point with everything you say. So you are just accepting the fact they can disregard you as a customer and just feed you what they want, when they want to. You are just glad to get SOMETHING at a time undetermined. I guess I got to hand it to them, they have managed to cultivate a market of Zombies with money. Would never work in most business models...maybe it does here because it is a game? None of us NEED this stuff, but we all want it......crazy.

What on earth are you talking about????? I have completely destroyed your points. It is a hand built product that takes time to make. The current demand is greater than current production. You act like this has never happened before.

Anyone old enough to remember how hard it was to get a Cabbage Patch Kid? Demand was greater than production. Or how about Super Mario 2 or 3? Same thing. Or even the Wii. Playstation 2 was like that too. Gary doesn't have some magic beans lying around. His machines are built 1 piece at a time by hand. Stern posts videos showing the machines being built. I suggest you take a look at them.

Do you even know how to read? You are stuck on GB delays, and I am talking about customer service.....I should have known better. I need an aspirin. I'm done trying to make my point, you win, Stern is the best thing EVER to come along and Gary is a god. Welcome to the Zombie herd.......

The hype is going away. The nostalgia is wearing off. Sorry scalpers. It's worth 8k.

Hype will peak once NIB LE's start shipping. If guys know they can have one in a week, money will talk. I just heard of another that sold for 9K plus.

I also just heard from a bunch of pinball players that GBLE is not worth a penny more than 8k.

The bottom is falling out already. First it was 10K, now 9k... 8K by July.

Yeah you might be right about the hype coming down. I personally was hyped on the title myself but my feelings have changed a bit. Hey I was out of the hobby for awhile and I fell right in on all the hype. Don't get me wrong I still feel it ia a great game and will be a game that is great but not the end all of pinball. Ever since I played Metallica at Pin-a-go-go (which I am not a huge fan of Metallica but did own a album or two in college) I can't seem to get that pin out of my head based on the total package.

Many casual players will find GB too hard. Still looks like Trudeau's best since creech and is stunning in person.

I loved the cartoon and Slimer as a kid, but I'm in on a Premium. I prefer Stay Puft and the Ecto 1 cabinet.

People are funny.

I have to agree with teeke on this point - "Buyers make the market".

I'd LOVE to go to a Super Bowl! I could even swing the cost for a couple tickets.....but I won't. They are stupid ridiculous. So I will likely never go to a Super Bowl. Oh well, choice made life goes on.

I agree 100%. I am not going to pay $2k per seat to watch men that make more in a year than I do in 20 years play a game. At least my GBLE is likely worth close to what I paid when I am done with it and that will be far more satisfying than going to one football game.
