Keep it! It's a wonderful game.

#5 7 years ago

If I was in the market for an LE I'd make you an offer very close to what you're asking. If I already had yours I'd just keep it for a year and enjoy and sell later for a minor loss. GLWS new playfield looks great!

Just curious, why are you asking about the serial #? (I'm just trying to learn...)

Are you asking about a serial # on the back of the pin or on the back of the playfield? (Is there one on the back of the playfield? )

#7 7 years ago

just back on the pin

I know, it is a great game, and I haven't even experienced it all yet! That why if nobody buys it, it ain't all bad, I'll just keep it.

Does anybody else know why one asks about the serial #? (Again, I'm still learning this hobby. I have never asked about a serial number, wondering if I should start? )

Probably trying to figure out around when it was made (atlas thats all I hope they are trying to figure out). Id give someone the build date but not the serial number.

I'm sure he can just give you the manufacture date correct?

The manufacturing date (or the game serial number) isn't going to tell you anything about the replacement playfield, so I'm not sure of what value it will be.

Why was the playfield replaced?

I was going to ask the same thing.

And why are you selling it?

What's so secret about Manufacture Date or Serial Number. Both are stickers on the back of the machine.

Just curious when it was made, etc.

Yawn, so much for sale drama. Anyone play pinball anymore?

Then all you need is the manufacture date. Stern ask for the serial number when sending replacement parts out so unless I was selling a game I wouldn't give that number out.

Stern must be really happy You posted You got a new pf when they are sending kits out.

And it appears to be a NOS populated pf after seeing slimer all tied up!

Atleast they are addressing the situation. Doubt they really care what he does with the game at this point.

Did you get to keep the original playfield?

#21 7 years ago
Quoted from cpr9999:

No, received empty box from Stern, put old populated playfield in, shipped back, received new populated playfield, installed in pin, and voila, the universe is in balance again!

Another reminder that we're not all on the same page I guess - I spoke to Todd Tuckey at TNT Amusements about the Stern playfield ghosting issues at a show a little while back and he had absolutely no clue what I was talking about. Pinside makes it front page news daily but it's funny how different it can be for others.

Anyways, if you do some reading, it's all around here (unfortunately it's such a widespread problem).

Do you have any pins you would be willing include in a trade, Tron, STLE, STNG, etc. ?

Bumping makes me feel good!

None I would trade, except for a HUO Perfect Mint Wheel of Fortune.

Bump, btw...I am going to be traveling from St. Louis to Chicago next Friday, April 14.
I have three pinball machines (TWDLE, this GBLE and IMVE) currently for sale that I could deliver on the route from here to there.

Contact me if you are interested.

Wow, listed for 51 days and would not take $8,400. The hype for a GB LE appears to be over.
