Quoted from BudManPinFan:Might want to include a few more pics when asking for a record price for the pin. GLWS

This asking price is not much more than what I paid for the pin and I think I got it for a great deal. Literally, I've never seen so much chrome on a pin. Can you get a Getaway for LOTS less? Well, yes you can. Can you get one totally blinged out with this much chrome, PinSound, ColorDMD for a lot less. I highly doubt it. I'll get some additional photos up soon.

#7 5 years ago

Alighty then...just added some more photos. As you can see, this is truly a very nice pin.

#8 5 years ago

I see you have put a lot into it, but you mustn't assume everyone has exactly your taste in bling nor will they prepare to help you pay for it. I see some of those things as a detriment that I would have to "fix." But good luck with your sale.

#9 5 years ago

I get that. There are many very playable and fun Getaways without all the pizazz. Some like pizazz. I am in that group so it is just a matter of finding the right person. This will make someone a nice pin.

Actually reading the posts helps, instead of just going right for his throat because you think its overpriced.

mustn't? lol..

That's "going for the throat" to you?

#12 5 years ago

Congrats, looks like you've moving to a nice house.

#13 5 years ago

Nice game for sure. New cabinet decals, actual ZZ Top songs, mini LCD mod and easily $2k in chrome. And Darin is a great guy to deal with.

#14 5 years ago

There is no need for your comment, you have no interest in the game, he bought ALREADY as is. This will be someones grail game, with little work remaining and you either pay now, or later.

#15 5 years ago

All games that come from Wes are always super nice. All of these are going to be tough sales though. The market is really flat right now so it's hard to get a premium for anything. Especially heavily modded or any routed games. Sure is pretty though.

#16 5 years ago

This ^^^

Wes' pins cannot be beat. Always beautiful. Always working perfectly.

#17 5 years ago

Ka- Blam! Such a nice pin!

#18 5 years ago

How much for it with all the chromed parts removed?

#19 5 years ago

So for $14,000 I can get a Getaway, a Shadow and a Roller Coaster Tycoon. YAY PINBALL!

#21 5 years ago

How does it play? Any problems?

#22 5 years ago
Quoted from snyper2099:

Ha! Remove the chrome and half you playfield is gone. I'll admit that the chrome on this pin is over the top but I see nothing wrong with that. I didn't put it on but I certainly approved of it and knew it was on there when I purchased. Heck, it is one of the reasons I purchased.

If you don't want to overpay for your patio like you did for your pin, I recommend getting at least three quotes from different contractors to make sure you are not getting screwed again. Just an FYI.

#24 5 years ago

You need to see this Getaway in person. It is incredible. Remove the crome. Never! Try and do this to any game and see what the cost grows to and no return in labor and time spent.

Thanks for the unsolicited advice.

I think I'll be fine. I'm okay with liking my pins in super nice/over-the-top condition and I'm willing to pay for it. That is what is great about this hobby. There are plenty of Getaways out there for much less that are just as much fun they just don't look as nice.

#26 5 years ago

so 2500-2800 pin plus 1000-1200 in chrome = $5500?...... Lord, what has happened to people?

#28 5 years ago

if you were in OZ id have bought this already seen ones of this standard go for more

#29 5 years ago

Chrome to the dome!

#30 5 years ago

I admire the ambition on this game. Shows a lot of love for this title. Only thing missing here I assume is the playfield re-clear. That would have made this worth the ask in my mind, without question. I wouldn't re-clear every nice playfield - but a lightning speed playfield for a lightning speed game would have been the way I'd have gone on this one.

#31 5 years ago

Ah, chrome.

Color DMD =$400
Pinsound =$400
Upgraded Speakers because of Pinsound =$200
Pinblades =$75
Various other mods I see =$300

right there you're at $1375 not including labor.

Great looking machine!!! Good luck with the sale bump

I don’t understand why everyone is bashing this game. They’re probably jealous and wish it theirs was as nice. I think the mods are tasteful and more worth the price. However, don’t count on recouping your labor. Personally, I think it should be cleared also. If I didn’t already have an HS2 I’d be looking seriously at this game. Good luck with the sale.

#34 5 years ago

I miss my Getaway. Gameplay was simple but lots of fun. It was nice but not as nice as this one. Hard to find one without insert wear around the rpm inserts. Upgrades all add a lot of value and condition looks great. Price may be high but there is a lot there. I know there are some that will always think games like this are $2500 no matter what is done to them or condition. GLWS.

Sorry, wasn’t trying to price police. It is a beautiful pin, I wish mine looked as nice! Might want to point out more of the mods that are on it. GLWS!

Please lay off the personal attacks. It's one thing to comment on the seller's price, but it's another matter altogether when you insult the seller himself.

So... $2750?

I don't think anyone with any sense in here is jealous. Some people in the thread already own a restored HSII.

I was noting the other mods and cost. With the base price of an average HS2 with all the mods and chrome, seller isn't probably far off on the price.

Haha...labor.

Quoted from TheLaw:

Unless it's done by someone highly thought of labor is 100% lost most times. For me I take what the game would normally sell for stock. Add up the mod cost and add 65% of the cost of the mods to the stock selling price. That gives me some wiggle room with the hope of getting 50%+ out of the mood additions. Buyer feels like they made me come off the price and I end up getting what I expected.

With that said not all mods are created equal. Colordmd in particular holds its value. Chrome, lighting, figures, etc not always so much as a lot of people simply do not like that stuff. Stuff like the Aurich hammer and translites also hold their value extremely well.

And Pinsound and speaker upgrades

They are very nice, but personally I'm not paying extra for those mods. Just not a priority to me. Some people certainly feel it's worth more though. Just a matter of finding the right buyer.

Right & 100% of the time it's going to be lost when the list includes shit like

What labor exactly would someone being paying for there? "Hey bro so i put ina new ColorDMD last week so there 4 hundy and of course 425 including the install."

"I will remove the colorDMD and include it the sale for $400.

I will leave the colorDMD in place for $425."

Example Pinsound and the speakers would cost, let's say $600. I'd gladly pay a bit more than that if installed. My time is worth something, I realize not everyone is like that but I'm sure a few of us are.

Thats good. Because you are basically buying this game for the price of two.

This is a great game for chrome. Most tricked out Getaway I've seen. Good luck, someone will be a happy new owner.

#50 5 years ago

I took a super nice HEP Getaway to Nashville show last year and had trouble asking 5k. Sold to Andreas for much less but like you I wanted a great example. The sound upgrade is so good on this pin. It was played the most last year in Nashville of all the pins I brought. Must be a reason. Good luck with sell! Darin is a great trader.
