Actually the OP a long standing Pinside member and I know that many of us have bought his pins before he closed his arcade/bar. I have bought 2 from him in the last 2 years for very good prices and he’s a great guy and in my personal experience a very fair seller. Transactions were very straight up. He is quite knowledgeable and a real enthusiast.

I fully understand the general consensus that this is priced very high and I hate to speak for someone else but I suspect he really is looking to see what such an unusually fine example of this title is worth.

I just sold my Funhouse for $7k. It was a restored cabinet, not new. No chrome. This one is probably a little nicer than mine. I sold it in minutes, I bet I could have gotten $7,500. In todays silly market I think this is an $8k game. Any more and you would be silly to not just send a beater to HEP.

I tend to agree. This is a nice game with HEP-like pricing and it’s available now, but it’s not a HEP. If you want a HEP you’re gonna have to get a donor game, send it a to Chris and wait 12-24 months. You’ll be in for about the same money as this pin.

Look, I can see a Funhouse like this one in very good/great condition going for $8k to $10k. Okay, fine.
But I'm not seeing where another $4k in value is coming from. You can get a used car for that, Or two PS5s at scalper rates.

Unfortunately, this looks like where it's going and we won't look back.... It is getting more and more expensive to do this to a game as time goes on. Beater Donor games are getting harder to find and cost more. Most people (today) do not have the talent, time, money, place or the stamina to do this to a game. But the ones that have the money, will pay handsomely for something like this and they won't look back either...

You forget that the joke ads aren’t selling anywhere near the asking price. The ads are basically auctions.

We would need to see evidence before believing that adding a set of cliffys and lying about being the first owner nearly doubles the value of the game.

I have to agree with this statement. A AFM remake just sold for $11k which is absolutely absurd to me, so this is probably listed at a pretty fair price. There is also a $16k MM royal in the market and I would rather have this Funhouse. Beautiful restore and great seller

So prices are dependent on time and effort? That's stupid. POTC owners must of put a lot of effort in when collecting $20000-30000 for their games. Title, condition, location dictate price. What difference does it make what someone sells a pin for? Take it or leave it.
