I wish my $3500 Funhouse looked like that!

#4 6 years ago

Nice...but $9500!!! GLWS!

#5 6 years ago

Very nice!

#7 6 years ago

Just came in to see what a $9500 Funhouse looked like.

GLWTS.

#9 6 years ago

I don't care if Jenna Jameson, 6 bottles of liquor, and a time machine back to her prime are inside the cabinet, a NIB FH is worth maybe $5-6k to this guy. To each their own, but ummmmm... glws.

#10 6 years ago

Black rubber on a Funhouse? Other than that, looks pretty nice.

#11 6 years ago

Is there a fleshlight in the coindoor?

#12 6 years ago

OP mentioned that the pictures spoke for themselves. I talked with the pictures a little bit, there were a lot of them, and they all had their own opinions, but they all agreed that there's no way this thing sells for $9000.

Quoted from playboywillis:

I was just talking about a custom pinball with a fleshlight built in yesterday

#14 6 years ago

How has this not sold for twice what its worth?!?

#15 6 years ago

How. Ugh for the sink?

#16 6 years ago

Only the one pin in collection?
Always a red flag for me. Guys that dont list there pins and location makes it seem suspicious.

You're an idiot. He's shopped and restored more games than you will in your lifetime and he's only 21.

#18 6 years ago

Pretty game. You don't have to like the price but there's not a lot I can see that I could complain about on the restore. It would likely cost more then 9K to send one off for a restoration of this level by the time everything is done.

Looks a hell of a lot better then a SWLE for roughly the same price

I have to agree. I'm not spending close to that amount for a Funhouse myself, but I don't necessary think the asking price is wrong. A base Funhouse is not cheap, nor is a restoration of this level.

I think there are better ways to spend 9k in pinball, but if you want a really nice Funhouse, you would probably have a tough time finding one like this for less.

That was my thought too. It's an inexcusable amount of money to ask for "a well-restored FH" but this is a work of art right here. I'd feel guilty playing it.

#21 6 years ago

Looks real nice. Might be worth that much to someone that really wants one. Good luck with sale.

His age would reflect why he doesnt know how to price pins then.
Wow, 21, so much experience.
And...you have a stake in this sale?
You also have no clue to my experience.
Also to edit myself before i affend a stranger.
More power to op if he gets sale.
I just dont feel any Funhouse, despite cherry restore, is worth more than say..6k.
Im not questioning a ton a work and money went into this pin.
Lastly, why wouldnt you list all those pins you've moved and worked on in your collection? I got tired of doing it, but if this what you do, then list in previous, it helps build trust and shows you have moved a few.

#24 6 years ago

To me Funhouses are not much fun. Owned 3 only to flip, they do have a fan base.

Bite your tongue! I'll be selling mine shortly, but it'll be in the 7s.

#26 6 years ago

...and btw, I think this machine looks freakin' AMAZING. But I think HEP Funhouses go for what this asking price is. Without the name, he's got a better chance of selling for about 1k cheaper.

#27 6 years ago
Quoted from beelzeboob:

not sure about painting the bottom of the coin box compartment

Are you talking about the sunlight that is coming through the coin door?

#28 6 years ago

I think somebody with deep pockets whos looking for a collector quality funhouse might pay the price, but it will take the right buyer. If OP can hold out for somebody like that to come along, then more power to him. The game is absolutely stunning! I love FH but not that much.

#29 6 years ago
Quoted from herg:

Are you talking about the sunlight that is coming through the coin door?

Wow...my meds are SERIOUSLY wearing off. My post has been edited and I'm formally issuing an apology! I confused this with the FH restoration thread that's currently going on.

So never mind - This machine is 100% gorgeous!

#30 6 years ago
Quoted from herg:

Are you talking about the sunlight that is coming through the coin door?

I'm talking about having a machine sitting out in the sunlight to begin with. Not the best place to store one IMO.

#31 6 years ago

I have a HEP FH. I'll take this shallow turd over any current Stern.

#32 6 years ago
Quoted from playboywillis:

For what? I think this makes you the fleshlight?

#33 6 years ago
Quoted from o-din:

Oh...that's only an issue long term. I *try* to photograph restorations in the sunlight because it's tougher to cheat and hide flaws. That's actually one big reason I respect this restoration so much. But yeah...once you've snapped the shots, you want to get 'er indoors.

#34 6 years ago

First, I'd like to offer an apology to ericpinballfan for calling him an idiot. I was in a mood this AM and I apologize.

So to respond to your points, he's 21 but has been doing shop jobs and restorations since he was 13. So 8 years. We both work at thepinballcompany.com and it would be impossible to list everything we work on. Usually 2-4 game a week depending on what they need. I'd say roughly 150 a year each and about 4-5 high ends a year - **notice the lower case letters to not spur a 4 page discussion if I'm insinuating we're HEP].
The amount of work to do a restoration the correct way, takes a lot of money in parts and a vast amount of time. Sure a funhouse can be had for $3k-$4k fairly easily. Most of those are players games. If that's what a person wants - go for it.
This game is for people who want pristine machines in their lineup. It can sit until we find the right buyer. Christmas is coming up - we'll see what happens.

How do you guys always turn a simple sale post into a full blown argument.

You people are rediculous. It's is a simple for sale post. It's a high level restored Funhouse, it's not going to be cheap. If you don't like the price then don't buy it. Or better yet price out getting one done with other restorers that do high level restores and find out for yourself what a fair price is. This is a fresh just finished great looking restore.

#39 6 years ago

Im not going to do any of that. Id rathet sit here and shitpost.

#40 6 years ago
Quoted from dgoett:

First, I'd like to offer an apology to ericpinballfan

Apology accepted , no worries.
I was a little taken back but also have to remember it is pinside and the internet.
What we write doesnt always have the emotional inflection and facial subtleties of every day speech.
I to apologize for bagging on our young pro learning the craft. Good for him and glad hes doing it.
Enough said, other than i wish he was closer so i could put him to work.
Wish both of you good luck, and maybe this will sell.
No more price police on any thread for me. Im done, lesson learned.

#41 6 years ago

There's almost always no point in creating a forum thread for this kind of sale. Just list it in the market and the people with Funhomes on their wishlist will get an alert that there's one for sale. That way you only target serious buyers.

#42 6 years ago

It has gotten to the point I think comments should be turned off on ALL for sale threads. This happens weekly and I think it is really turning people off from Pinside and frankly gets old.

#43 6 years ago

Honestly, if a price is higher than what might be expected, there's nothing wrong with asking the buyer, in a respectful and constructive way, why that might be the case. We got to that point eventually and some good chatter came out of it. But that's just my ten cents.

It's the sellers choice to turn it into a forum, and the default is to not turn it into a forum.

#46 6 years ago

This game is stunning and gorgeous. For a restoration this high end with all the parts and man hours it's in the ball park. For the greatest pinball of all time, great work! For all the neigh Sayers..... "go get yourself a hotdog!"

Funhome doesn't quite have the same ring about it ...
