For sale: Fun House

Added: February 4th, 2019 Ended: February 6th, 2019
Condition: Used - shows wear but 100% working and clean

Item description

Have a fantastic, clean, original Fun House for sale / trade. Great playfield with only a couple minor touch ups. Has no mylar at all and little wear at the scoop and mirror. Plays great. Cab is fantastic, with a few touchup spots, mostly on backbox corners. No flipper button wear. Inserts are nice and level.

Underside of the playfield is beautiful and clean, and boards are some of the cleanest I've ever seen for this one. Backglass looks perfect to me.

Will include a new insert decals set if you want to replace any, as some show wear here an there, which is expected for an original from 1990. I’m going through the pin now and doing some decal replacement.

100% Working Rudy! Just replaced a part to make the eye close properly.

Only really want to trade towards TWD Prem/LE (of course I'll add cash) BUT would entertain other interesting trades.

Please msg w/any questions.

Thanks!

A NIB Stern is $5799 plus shipping...so we're still talking $1000 cheaper, to be fair.

His original list price was $5500. So I think it's a pretty fair question.

It wasn't really a question, just a smart-ass criticism. Own up to it.

You must've commented while I was editing the ad.

BTW, like I originally stated, Rudy needed an $8 part. I put it in. RUDY NOW WORKS 100%. There are no "Rudy issues".

Rudy's a brilliant device, which might be intricate, is pretty easy to work on. The mechanism makes sense if you're technically inclined. This "close eyes" part broke over time. It just needed replacement.

If you want to buy a new Stern, feel free. Unlike Spike, these are super easy to fix, as demonstrated.

Don’t post a way overpriced pin and expect no criticism.

Own up to it.

I did modify the price. Move along if you're not interested.

No fan of Funhouse, but this is a pretty nice example minus the small kickout wear.

I really like Funhouse, it’s a great machine. I agree that this is a nice example of it.

Look at prices on all pins, they’re going up.
I personally don’t think that this is a bad price.

Cabinet looks to be in fantastic shape. Back of PF is super clean, nice translite... mint looking proper coin door that is no longer made...

Slap in a new PF if you're super picky and you're all set. I'm sure when the game is on and you're not 6 inches above it everything looks good as well.

It's also OBO. Seller is a great guy, GLWS.

It's not a crazy over the top price. If an example like this is listed at 4K, it would sell in an hour or less.

#12 4 months ago

least it aint 65k

backglass looks immaculate not a scratch on the thing!

Nice example and fun game with great quirky humor. Classic.

The Steps Open insert in the left shooter lane looks like it has all but popped out? Nice fun game for sure but I wouldn't call that playfield Beautiful with little wear.... With a new playfield this could be a great game.

I am a bit curious of the serial and a few red boards. Is this possibly an early example or was that common in this older Williams games?

Not sure about the red board. I can check. Steps insert is good. Barely feels like anything.

The "wear" is the silkscreen on some of the inserts, so what I was planning on doing was removing the paint from the inserts that need it, apply the insert decals, then put a playfield protector over and it'll look and play as smooth as anything.

But truth be told b/c it's a home environment even with insert decals and waxing it doesn't effect ball travel and will be fine.

First pin I ever looked at via Pinside was Funhouse 6 years ago. It was $3500, untested and the playfield was absolutely ROACHED. It was awful. Did not buy it.

Trust me I'm not making money here. Not my intent.

Actually 5450 with free shipping is best I've seen .

The small red boards are common on these.

Look at the shooter lane on the play field pretty clean.

#19 4 months ago

I picked one up today for 4800, 5k isn’t an unreasonable price for this title.

#20 4 months ago

Thanks guys.

Worked on inserts today. Look good (not quite done yet).

At the end, add a playfield protector if you want, and it’ll be pretty damn nice.

Gotta do some cleanup but I’m tired!
