for sale

For Trade: HUO Avatar Pro in Virginia (nova)

Added: August 1st, 2015 Ended: August 21st, 2015
Condition: HUO - Documented (Home Used Only)

Price

$ 3,700

Item description

I have a beautiful HUO Stern Avatar (Pro) for sale or for trade. Price is $3700, firm. I am also open to trading for other DMD titles, preferably other modern Sterns but am open to other options, see below. I am located in Fairfax, VA, roughly 20 minutes south of Washington, DC. I am only able to deal locally and have no way to transport my game. At the moment I am not interested in shipping.

The details:
- Late run built in mid-2013
- Updated CPU set + game code 2.00
- Glossy cabinet decals (versus the rough screen printed cabinets of earlier runs)
- Red DMD
- Full LEDs for GI and inserts
- Flipper Fidelity sound system
- LED OCD board for LED insert smoothing/fading
- Flipper Fidelity backbox LED lighting kit.
- Includes extra toys that the new buyer can install
- Documented HUO, I can send you the previous owner's original purchase receipt.
- Original goodie bag still stapled to the inside cabinet
- 3D translate (all models have this, but I have received requests asking if it's still included)
- Metal leg/cabinet protectors built into the game (I don't think early models had these)
- Keyless coin door lock (original lock and key is included as well)

There are a couple of minor issues--coin return is nicked a little bit, and there is a tiny scratch by the front right leg that you can't really see unless you are a few inches away.

I am also open to trades. Here's some criteria to give you an idea on what I am looking for when it comes to trade options: 1. Even trade for another HUO modern Stern of the same value (The Rolling Stones, Avengers Pro, Transformers, 24, etc); 2. Even trade for a routed modern Stern that may normally be worth more than this, but is about on the same value level due to condition/heavy wear/etc (Simpsons Pinball Party, Metallica Pro, Mustang, etc); 3. Your lesser-value modern Stern + cash for the Avatar (Nascar, World Poker Tour, Austin Powers, etc); 4. Two-for-one trades of cheaper Sterns, Segas or Williams WPC games (Sharkey's Shootout, Striker Extreme, High Roller Casino, X-Files, Independence Day, Johnny M, NBA Fast Break, etc). Not really interested in anything pre-DMD at the moment and I have no interest in Data East stuff.

Message me if you would like to know more details about my game, come check it out, or shoot me an offer.

If you have something in decent shape that's more expensive, like a LOTR, I have a Gottlieb/Premier Hollywood Heat machine I could throw in on top as well as a Bally Future Spa. Both work well and are a lot of fun.

Market wouldn't let me update my post title, so I removed the old listing and made a new one. Added a lot of differing criteria for trades. I am open to a lot of things on the DMD side of things, particularly Stern and Sega stuff.

#3 5 years ago

Bump. FYI, I am unable to pay up. Looking for even trades only, or + cash on your end for lesser valued games. Not looking for arcade machines (video games).

Looks like a very complicated sale

Pinside doesn't give you the option to list it "For Trade" in the thread title, so yeah.. Making do with what the system allows.

I would like that very much! That's something I want to pitch to my friends locally. My rig is mobile and so if people are OK with me recording gameplay videos of their titles, I am happy to do so.

Where can I see your avatar vid ?

#11 5 years ago

Just wanted to add that this is documented HUO. I can forward whoever picks this up the original purchase receipt.

I have a few different video styles on this game, they can all be found in this thread: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/avatar-pro-pinball-gameplay-videos-stern-2010

I think my wife and son are going to be out of town next week, so it would be a great time if you're able to make it one evening. TZ is down at the moment (dead flipper opto), but all the others are fair game.

GLWS! It's a beautiful game.

#14 5 years ago

Make sure AFM is down too if Austin is coming over

#15 5 years ago

Austin- you're welcome to record at my place too.

#16 5 years ago

Just thought I'd let people know I put a price tag on the game. I'd rather do a trade (I hate having gaps in the collection), but if you're willing to pay up, it's here for the taking.

That would be great, I could definitely make it by one night if it works for you.

Thanks, Tad, that would be awesome!

Count me in as well. I work at home so you are welcome to come by during the day and film while I work.

Wow, that is my dream trade...... something for Avatar and Hollywood Heat. (I love both of those games). Good luck with the trade

Thanks! Always great to hear from others that enjoy the 'Heat. In my opinion, it's an under-appreciated game.

yes it totally is.... There aren't a ton of 80's games that I really like, but HHeat is one of them.

Hello.

I remember playing Hollywood Heat in crystal city underground's arcade (in nova area also) and then going home and learning the theme music on my little Casio synth. One if the worst translites - obviously Miami and not Hollywood.

Yeah, the translite is my least enjoyable aspect of the game. I thought about making my own eventually.

#27 5 years ago

awww, the translite is great. I have one hanging on my wall (and a populated playfield)

Open to Iron Man Classic or Batman Standard (Costco model) as well. Hell, I'd even be willing to try The Pin, if the price is right.. Haha.

#29 5 years ago

Game is pending sale for the full $3700 to a semi-local buyer. Just trying to arrange a date for pickup, potentially Thursday as of now.

Good, thanks for letting us know the price sold at. It looks like a great pin.

Had I not just bought Tspp, that might have been an option.

Haha, I am going to be looking for something like a TSPP after this is all said and done.

I'll make a final post here when the game is picked up and gone.

Well come on over if you want to see my pins especially if you want to see Tspp.

I already have Tron/IM (never leaving) which seem to bear a resemblance to Avatar and each other.

Tspp is so much different than all my other pins that it's truly amazing, way more shots and geometry. I keep liking it more each day. Sorry I waited so long to pick it up.

I'm kind of at that point myself. I've owned a lot of simple games and I'm getting the itch for something that is really deep with tons of shot angles and varying flow. TSPP and LOTR fit that bill.

I'd love to own a Tron but they are priced out of my league. It's got a great ruleset and if I had one it probably wouldn't leave, even in my small collection.
