Wasn't this 9,000 in February?

I think it was.

Classic, ask more money and buyers with cash burning a hole in their pocket think they’re getting a great deal!

Buddy runs a detail business, used to charge low rates, got scumbags and disgusting cars.
Tripled his rates and suddenly got upper class customers, cleaning brand new Land Rovers and Escalades.

There’s an ass for every seat!

Not that one. Auto launch button and coin return slots are different.

#6 3 years ago

Look at that ball return coil on pic two. And that's on the new Mirco PF...

Apparently there are twins of this thing?
Evil twins?

This was “pending sale” just a couple weeks ago and now it looks like the sale fell through... yikes. That’s a big red flag if I’ve ever seen one.

#9 3 years ago

That coil... makes me wonder about the rest oft he mechs minus the flipper and pop that were rebuilt. Why go to all this work tricking a machine out and swapping the playfield and rechroming.. only to not take apart all the mechs and clean them, apply new coil wrappers.. ?

I don’t buy the red flag on sale falling thru though, why’s that a red flag?

#10 3 years ago

looks great, but at the end of the day its still just a fishtail.. glws.

#11 3 years ago

He is saying mirror blades they are art blades.... it’s an ugly color combo with lots of mods but not worth it. Who paints an interior cabinet blue for fish tales looks bad...black is or would have been better.

Why would anyone ever paint the inside of the cabinet any color OTHER than black (and leg brackets etc)??? So unnecessary.

Talk about way over-invested on this one, yikes. I’ll never understand going this over the top on a B or C list title. Do this stuff to an original AFM or something people will actually want and appreciate the add ons.

Man you really gotta like fishing!

#15 3 years ago
Quoted from whthrs166:

Man you really gotta like fishing!

...fishing for suckers with fat wallets and/or clowns

I don’t get these paint jobs (this is the second one just like it). If there was the same amount of work put in and kept a decent color scheme it might have worked...and would justify at least half of the asking price.

GW University took that approach back in the 80s or 90s. Enrollment was down and they couldn't attract new students. So they jacked their tuition up--suddenly they were prestigious and enrollment went up considerably.

Looks like a lot of work went into making this game look the way it does. I really really dont understand the festooning of those fake aquarium plants all over the playfield.

Over $7000 in parts, so not so crazy if you calculate the time and effort to do this.

#26 3 years ago

If you calculate the cost and time to get it back looking halfway decent though the price negates itself.

Quoted from Bumper:

The crazy started on the first line. "Working Fish Tales base: $3200"

#28 3 years ago

For sure they put a TON of detail work in with every little part powder coated orange, but customized to their taste and not likely anyone else.

I just noticed the blue backbox.

All that money ... and this? Can’t spend the extra $5 to go new?

First thing I saw in the photos.

Exactly, I suspect none of assemblies were taken apart and cleaned. For all the work put in, this should have been done for a full restore. And new wrappers.

7500 doesn’t seem unreasonable to the right buyer. I’m not against the powder coat or a lot of the mods— but the asking is almost over HEP pricing and this ain’t HEP.

There is no need to replace that part when your audience is newbies. Just like the last machine that sold with water damage for 9K the uneducated newbie is going to buy this because they will see all mods and bling and think it's the nicest FT in existence.

Agree. I don't like criticizing for sale ads but when I see "high end restoration" to me that should mean all assemblies removed + polished using a tumbler, replacing dirty springs / flipper components, and cleaning the wiring harness.

#35 3 years ago

Bought a really nice, partial restored FT with new ramps, re-cleared pf, tumbled metals. All new LEDs. That thing was nice. $4k even in June, 2019. So dumb I traded it.
