Awesome game worth every penny

Quoted from Mark000:

Awesome game worth every penny

12 k for a fishtales is worth every penny? I don’t care if Moses restored it, it’s still a fishtales.

And yes I own one!

Glws op, and don’t forget to wash your hands.

#5 6 months ago

People are crazy, how can a 12k fish tales be justified in any way shape or form.

If you wanted to spend $12K on a HEP FT, why would you buy someone else's?

Your not 6 feet apart! Please let’s practice social distancing, even while slamming each other’s posts please!

Ps- wash your hands! And shave your beards! The virus loves facial hair!

A 12k fishtales implies that it is as good as a jjp pirates.

#10 6 months ago

One sold at tpf last year or the the year before for $15k. It was all chromed out, everything new, but I agree, in the end it’s still a fishtales.

#11 6 months ago

It has shooter lane wear and something looks off with the fish. Decals or paint with clear over them. Look at the tail on the blue fish. The R side line and other aspects look off

That said it’s a Beautiful !!! Game. Best I’ve seen but 12k. I know the op has a lot in it but that can’t be takin into my value of it. I would say 8500 would be on point

Again WOW. What a game

That's some strange logic. Price and goodness don't correlate...sorry!

I think FT is a great game, but 12-15k? Not going to happen on Pinside...need to fish elsewhere for that type of coin.

Here is an FT I restored awhile back and sold for 4k on Pinside 5 years ago.

The PF was original/unrestored/gorgeous. The cabinet was beautifully done by Marcel Gonzalez (http://www.pinwerks.com/aboutme.htm).

yes, I remember that one. I think it was 3 years ago. It looked great, but played like crap.

Please don’t take my comments as a shot. You posted and responded with class.

Outstanding example and I will never personally seen one as nice

Wonder how much my Treasure Cove restored Fish Tales is worth then

#19 6 months ago

When was this restored by Chris Hutchins?

How many Fish Tales has HEP done?

If you consider it a lifetime keeper, you have to have the absolute BEST one in existence, it's your favorite (or one of your favorite) games, if you have a lot of money to spend or you don't think 12k would be better spent on another pin or pins for the price.

None of those apply to me, but everyone's different. I also wouldn't buy a $70,000 pizza, but they apparently make them because I just saw a show about it yesterday.

Oh, make no mistake, Fishtales is one of my favorite games ever. Love it. And it very much is hard to have one that isn't beat to HELL (those fish wear out so fast it makes your head spin), but I feel that price is just too too much. You could easily restore it yourself for way less. But, again, there is a pin out there for everyone.

I agree with you, I was just playing devils advocate for a moment.

Quoted from dsuperbee:

When was this restored by Chris Hutchins?

Around 2005 I believe.
I have only done three.
Two in 2005/2006 and a prototype a couple of years ago.

Hard to beat Fish Tales, imo.

Unless you like spending 10 minutes on a ball...then it is not for you.

But an HEP Fish Tales is a pretty low population machine.

I've got a really early playfield here, marked 'Art Sample - Return to G Feres '

I'd love to see some pics of that Prototype Machine/Playfield if you have a link?

FT bump!

#32 5 months ago

I can't believe this hasn't sold. If I had any extra room this one would be a no-brainer for me.

I see some numbers in your post that look pretty reasonable.
