I'm going to go buy a black knight 2000 for $7500 first, and I will get this one with the change left over

Are you gonna buy or are you gonna fish?

if ya get offered $4300 id run with it!

Fish Tales can be all over the board. Nice original ones go for over $3k fast. This one is practically brand new with everything that’s been done to it. I don’t know what people think restores cost but just saving the time and effort of having to do it all yourself is worth damn near this price alone and if this is a game you love and know you’ll want in your collection forever anyway why wouldn’t you just get the nicest one you can find out there. I would take it for way more than that if I did not have one and I am not saying this because FT is worth that much, it is not, but this one is when you add all the work that went in it.
New playfield and playfield swap alone is 2k.
This is no Baywatch without legs, let us be nice. Nice game OP, GLWS.

If you invest heavily in a "B" or "C" list title, you do it for you. People cant expect to get investment out of a title that's just not that heavily sought out. 99% of people who want a fish tales are fine with a clean players machine at $3000. That 1% is going to be very elusive on something this niche (tons of money invested in what looks to be a good restore on a "C" list title)

Something like TAF - at least HALF of the buyer pool WANTS something like this so the investment makes far more sense. You've got to be prepared to lose money on a restore like this - or just keep the machine because why else would someone invest this heavily if its not a machine they absolutely have to have forever?

this exactly. People who put $3500 and a month of time into a $2800 game and expect to get every cent back or make money are crazy.

I sold a restored FT, without a playfield swap, for over 5k last year. It sold instantly and I had several people lined up to buy it if the first guy fell through...the price on this is not too far out of line and I bet it will sell in the mid 6s...

I would have agreed to this up until recently. If you wait long enough there MIGHT be NIB TAFs in the future. Would CCG make Fish Tales? Definitely not anytime soon.

I'd love to have a nice FT, but like others, this is too rich for my blood. I guess I'd rather have a nice ~$3,500 players machine. I've always loved the casual play with FT, but never had time to get to know it. Is it that bad for home use?

Won't the protective layer on the decals be problematic to remove without first removing the coin door, shooter handle, etc?

I don’t think so but not positive. I wanted to leave it on at least until I move it upstairs. Just a few nuts to loosen if the film does get stuck.

Fish Tales C List?

You're just another guy who doesn't understand the restored pins market. Don't worry. You're not alone.

#16 4 years ago

Please, out some lightning flippers on that thing. Those flippers look silly

I could certainly swap some in if that would seal the deal!

Nice job ! Over here it would be a bargain . As FT is the fourth best selling Williams dmd pin of all time behind AF , TZ and T2 it is nowhere near a " C " game .

#20 4 years ago

Fish Tales is FAR from a C list title.....it's a SOLID B

This pin might be at the top of the spectrum price wise, but Restores will always bring more than a average condition pin

Good luck Op

Are you physically walking it there for that price?

#23 4 years ago

I won't jump in the price conversation as everybody has different thoughts on this. However, I just watched your video of this machine and it looks stellar - very nice work! One question - is that the topper making the banging / clapping-like noises in the background or is it something else?

#24 4 years ago

Looks beautiful. Just needs the right buyer to come along.
Id gripe about the price but only because Im jealous that I cant afford it.

#25 4 years ago

I think the game looks pretty awesome....he did a great job on the restore

yeah i should probably re-record that. the video was captured in my cinder block basement so it comes through very distorted. The topper is assembled according to the manual, new sleeve, bumper, and plunger.

Why not just keep it? It seems like a "forever" machine.
