Quoted from PtownPin:About a year ago there was a really nice HEP FT that sold in the $7's, color dmd, powder coated, restored play field, and all the electronics were completely
An HEP FT for 7k? It cost more than 7k just to get an HEP restore when you supply the machine. That was a smokin deal for someone!
Quoted from pinmister:used to be on the other side of the fence and then I started to really appreciate the amount of work that goes into a restoration job. I was fortunate to find a fully restored Fishtales and it is now a centerpiece in my collection. To me it is like a work of art and worth every penny.
Now thats a nice Fish Tales! I tip my hat to sir.
Quoted from sunnRAT:take the middle road. A nice example that just needs a little cleaning, maybe even change rubbers and adjustments. They can still be found for decent prices. I don't need the bling to make it sing.
I agree. Now what I look for in a game is collectability. Collectability to me is a basic criteria. 1. Low play wear. 2. Nice original pf and cabinet with no or little fade in the artwork. 3. Original board set. 4. No damage from the elements. I just found a WH20 and FT that were just that. They are very nice examples and I feel very lucky to have them in my collection. Now for bling: color DMD, pinblades, LEDs, sound upgrade, sometimes armor and topper.
After this thread, I think all my games just went up in value. Something tells me this thing is just getting started...
Quoted from chooch:the price police chime in.
The price police are overruled by CASH! They are gone... Let auctions begin!
Quoted from Drenden:This is a lipstick on a pig restore. Who did this?
Dude your late to the game. This thing is already gone. This is the new normal.
Quoted from woody76:another NEW NORMAL? i can't take anymore of this
I hear ya brother. This is not the kinda normal any of us need!
Quoted from chooch:Nice to see someone has a sense of humor on here and can appreciate a little sarcasm. Next time
Ya just gotta laugh. Ya can’t make this stuff up folks!
That's funny... I did precisely the opposite. The remake I got NIB had numerous issues that CGC didn't care a bit about. The game wasn't collectible IHMO so got rid of it.
