I'd love a nice FT, but $9K is a little steep ... GLWS

#4 3 years ago

Why do the decals have weird gaps at the corners?

#5 3 years ago

Hmmm - the orange coin door, legs, and rails is nice but is definitely not for everyone.

I powder coated mine gloss black including the shooter reel and I think it is a little more subdued.

Why a key switch for the start button? Seems like a better idea for a car theme game. Glwts.

Maybe starting the boat?

Tournament start button on the reel?

That's ostentatious to be polite.

#16 3 years ago

no pics of pf or shooter lane? no problem!

#17 3 years ago

Its worth more than that....I was thinking $6

#18 3 years ago

Yeah might need to show some pics of the playfield for that ask.

Beat me to it... Shooter lane pic is mandatory. What's been done to the PF? Tell us about the waterfall projector.

cosmokramer always has good taste! I think it's easy to overdo it on FT. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

#22 3 years ago

Looks very nice....black always looks good

#23 3 years ago

Wow. That is one slammin’ salmon!

#24 3 years ago

I would take a picture of mine but it’s identical to yours...

Gorgeous game, like every game you have ever listed. GLWS.

#26 3 years ago

The price imo is quite fair, considering how much restoration went into this.

I'm going to end up buying one of his! Amazing the stuff he puts out.

considering how much restoration went into this.

Using that logic if you spend $99,999,999 and ten years restoring a Thunderbirds it’s worth about $99,999,999?

Of course not. It’s worth market price. Just because you overpaid doesn’t mean the next owner should.

#29 3 years ago

Need pictures of the pcb boards in the BB and some more of the bottom of the PF. The bottom of the playfield looks like a reimport or it seen some moisture in the past, has rusty parts, Transformer, bulb sockets,, etc. Take it for what it is OBO.

#31 3 years ago

I wouldn’t buy this thing for 9k if it was restored by George Lucas.

That said, GLWTS.

#32 3 years ago

Need playfield pics top and bottom. When a 4k game gets up around 10k it needs to be a whistle clean restore not just a bling job.

#33 3 years ago

I’m looks like the holes on the front cab were not sanded flush prior to putting on the decals.

This is so tough because a lot of money was thrown into this restore. It’s the little things that needed to be fixed to make this one worth more.

It can probably be fixed properly for $500 or less. It’s more work though.

#34 3 years ago

Got to show the play field in detail for this type of money. I struggle with 90's B and W games restored with color trim. Original stainless, chrome , and possibly brass (E.G. IJ). Powder coat I would stay with gloss black. are my personal preference. Some may be others influenced this way as well.

#35 3 years ago

one sold at TPF for $10k about 5 years ago that was very similar to this. Different color trim but similar restore

#36 3 years ago

I used to be on the other side of the fence and then I started to really appreciate the amount of work that goes into a restoration job. I was fortunate to find a fully restored Fishtales and it is now a centerpiece in my collection. To me it is like a work of art and worth every penny.

All that work done and you ruin it with colored GI.

Either put white bulbs in or cut a few hundred from the price so whoever buys this can have some extra cash to buy some good bulbs and LED OCD boards.

Edit: Okay I'm probably being a bit too harsh here, but seriously, this would look so much nicer with some white bulbs so all the artwork could shine.

#40 3 years ago

About a year ago there was a really nice HEP FT that sold in the $7's, color dmd, powder coated, restored play field, and all the electronics were completely worked over...

#41 3 years ago

For this price comprehensive high-res photos are a must.

I'm not expecting to see rust on a $9K game. When I do a game myself, every single screw gets polished...

You’re being kind.
The underside of the playfield from the one obscured photo provided looks like total shit. Water stained, rust etc.
I’m betting the inside of the cabinet is painted to hide water damage (if not had the entire bottom replaced).

I think it looks as good as the blue powder coating I've seen although I think black looks the best. Not sure why u would go through all this effort and not refurbish the play field.

#47 3 years ago

This price is ridiculous.

An HEP FT for 7k? It cost more than 7k just to get an HEP restore when you supply the machine. That was a smokin deal for someone!
