Quoted from FatPanda:Assuming it's 3900 EUR, converted to USD today is 4594.22. Throw in $80 USD bank wire fee, $100 USD import fee, $400 USD shipping fee, and it'll bring you up to about $5100 USD.
Throw in the fact that it's brand new pinsider with only 1 post...it's a big gamble in my book.
Unless he has tons of references from reputable pinsiders or other enthusiasts, I would personally pass.
ah... was assuming 3900 USD and less that 4500 to door?
Quoted from FatPanda:I mean...it could be? Each game that I've reimported has been their native currency, just my personal experience.
you are right that noobie pinside is biggest caution.
That said, the condition and price are a nice combo.
I see a solid BG, nice original PF, avg cabinet, appears to be functioning, solid displays?, and boards look good for age.
If there is a local pinhead, this is a no brainer.
Shipping... do the due diligence and it is a good deal if all real/works out.
Quoted from Krupps4:Seller/OP told me 700-1000 US air freight and 300 US sea freight.
that is about right from what I had heard. Keep in mind that sea freight means you need to also pay for truck once it hits the harbor.
Better off to go air to you nearest major hub. Also better than 2 months of possible damage and salt water corrosion.
Quoted from Electrocute:Why would anyone buy from this seller? You may want to consider spending the $3900 on scratch off tickets. At least there is a chance you’ll get a return on your investment.
I dont think that is a fair accusation.
It is possible this is all legit and many things seems to point that it is.
Sure there are normal red flags to vet, but to flat out accuse the person as a scam is wrong.
Quoted from Krupps4:I asked the seller a follow up question to my shipping cost question about 20 hours ago and haven’t received a response. I asked if he had any experience packing and shipping a pin.
Have you gotten any replies to pm at all?
Looks like a legit reply.
I assume at the price he got quite a few PMs. Probably looking to find the easiest/hassle free sale. Possibly a local that can pick up?
I would suggest anyone do your due diligence (like you would for any purchase).
At this point the only caution raised is that this is not some known pinsider.
Quoted from Thor-NL:Seen this pin on a local advertisement site asking 4.000 Euro's.
Bids are at the moment 3.100 Euro
Think he will first try to get 4.000 local before going through the hassle of shipping.
(Think a Fathom will not be sold for 4.000 Euro in the Netherlands though ..... but thats my opinion )
I assume like most games... they sell for more in US than Netherlands ?
