for sale

For sale: Fathom

Added: November 21st, 2018 Ended: December 1st, 2018
Condition: Fully restored (full original status)

Item description

Good:
-playfield was re-screened by CPR
-all new plastics
-all new rubbers
-new apron
-LEDs throughout
-all boards were serviced in 2017
-replaced the lockbar receiver with one in much better shape
-all new drop targets
-topside playfield metal was tumbled/polished
-new leg levelvers

Bad:
-cabinet is original and has planking on the left side
-backglass is original and has some scratches
-#1 drop target doesn't stay up. When I got it the screws holding in the drop target switch were to long and pushing against the target. The target isn't straight and I think that's why it doesn't stay up.
-Right flipper needs a rebuild. Where the set screws go to hold the flipper shaft is loose. Kinda hard to explain.
-original spinner
-original playfield glass
-original legs

Interested. What does playfield re-screened mean??

I don't know the exact process but from what I understand the original playfield was sanded to remove the original artwork. Then the art was screened back onto the playfield one color at a time. It's not a decal or anything like that.

OK? Thanks never heard of that type of service/restore before may hold for now GLWS.

Like what John Greatwhich has done with StarGazer.

If it was done by CPR in the past it was likely silk screened one color at a time, and not the Direct Ink process that I believe John Greatwich is doing.

Yeah, they offered this for Centaur playfields as well when they did them for the first time. You could either buy one that they cut and silk screened for you or ship them your original playfield to have it redone at a lower cost. I think they stopped doing it because it was just too much work for the margins.

Looks like a new Apron too.

I had this done to my Fathom PF and it turned out amazing... IMO of course GLWS, beautiful machine.

I think the best part is that the game retains its original playfield.

no doubt about it!

A CPR rescreen of an original is 100% the best option possible for any game!

PF looks amazing! I hope someone gets this and finishes the restoration on the cab and BG. Will be a top tier game and a great part of the work done.

My Fathom has this process done by a company in Belgium by the restorer but he used a Caribbean green instead of the original green which looks amazing IMO.
