The F-14 has a new playfield from Buthamburg’s first run. I also have a playfield protector on it, so it’s still
mint. I know some people don’t like the feel of the protector, but it can be cut off of the game in a matter of minutes.
I restored the lower cabinet and put on decals from Retro Refurbs. Not tiny scratch on the left side decal the I did when pulling the game out to take a picture of it for this ad...go figure. It’s not noticeable and it’s in the black area. There is a little decal damage under the legs, so I put protectors on and added some washers and padding. You don’t know the damage is there unless you take the legs off. I haven’t done the head yet because it isn’t in bad shape, but I do have the decals for it. The left top front corner of the head has some chipping, but nothing serious.
The game has updated ROMs, NVRAM to replace the battery, and one new relay board which fixed the game’s only problem since I’ve owned it.
The display is original and looks great.
This is one of many “Prototype” machines, which is basically an early production run. As such, I was able to rewire the original flashers and they work great (I insulated them with heatshrink tubing). The backboard of the playfield has the original clear flashers and the center dome on the backbox is also clear.

Some inserts (All of the white/clear ones)have LEDs, but not the GI. Fairly new rubbers, new pulley rubber, and I even put a new motor in it for the beacons.
