Game - for sale

For sale: Eye Of The Tiger (Gottlieb, 1978)

Added: 2016-04-05 01:23:45 UTC • Ended: April 8th, 2016
Condition: Used - shows wear, needs some work

Price

$ 1,200

Rare Eye of the Tiger Pinball Machine. Needs to be shopped. It does power up and functions to a certain extent, but will need to be gone thru with the typical e.m. shop job. Cosmetically it is in decent shape. Backglass has the typical gottlieb flecking from this era. This will be a very nice machine all cleaned up and shopped.

Well, this is certainly not a game you see pop up every day.

Hmm, never heard of this one. Cool looking game.

Sinbad is the more common solid state version of the game. This was the EM version.

I think the only time I've actually seen the EM version out in the wild was at the silverball museum.

A quick, but very sad tale. Continue reading at your own risk: Many years ago, my cousin found an Eye of the Tiger on the side of the road in their neighborhood. It was about to rain. Naturally, he put the game in his dad's truck to try to see what might have been wrong. Back in the garage, they look inside, see all the relays and switches, said "Ahhh, #&*@ it." And stuck it back out on the curb. The rain came, ruined whatever could've been, and the trash guys unceremoniously chucked the whole thing into the garbage truck. To add insult to injury, they pulled the lever, and the hydraulic compactor came in and finished the deed. I was much too young then to have any kind of say in what was happening, and I was much too young to even appreciate what it was. *Sigh*

Now this is a game you don't see often. Should be sold soon. Wish I could afford it.

Sinbad came out in EM also. Also rare.

Europlay produced that one--not Gottlieb.

Gottlieb did make an EM Sinbad 4 player. I had to look up the Europlay one. That is neat. A single player in a wedge head cab.

Ah-ha...forgot about that 4-player version.
