Yeah, it's missing quite a bit but might make a good project, especially if it's a game you are dying to have. They are pretty rare.

I have a spare playfield that is nice, an mpu and the needed display but I can't quite get myself to $900 with the rough cabinet. Someone can make a nice game out of this.

I think you would be better off getting the missing parts and up n running, then try and sell it. Heck put a little elbow grease into it and ask for even more. Great machine. GLWTS

That game is trashed, you should feel lucky that someone offered you $800 with major components missing. And the playfield isn't that bad? Seriously?

I’ll change that with a positive post. I miss my Embryon. Nothing to do with this copy, but I owned one for about 5 years, and I wish I hadn’t sold it.

You shouldn't get upset or think negative but look at what you're showing us. A non-working machine that has major components missing. Right now it's just a paperweight, that's why earlier I Said to fix it up and then try to sell it.

$650 to $700 is probably the right price on that machine based on condition and that is likely stretching things. As far as parting it out you will never get $800 out of the parts (I part over 30 machines out each year and you have about $600 worth of parts at real world prices maybe $800 if you want to take a year selling them plus waste a lot of time doing that). More importantly there is no logic in parting out a machine that is worth saving!

Grab the $700 from the person making you that offer and be happy to see machine live on!

I think you are getting close for what you have. $700 - $900. If you don't reach your number, take the best. The big gamble is the S&T board working or not. I have also had hundreds of Bally pins 1978-1982, many went to the landfill 15+ years ago. Needed parts to keep better ones going.

I can honestly say I am not one of those guys in the hobby looking at everything from the money angle and anyone who knows me will tell you that about me. To me it is all about saving as many machines as possible but I am also realistic and realize some machines are better as parts. An example of it not being about money to me is a Globetrotters I just finished. Two years ago I bought a Globetrotters missing everything on top of the playfield, all the boards, displays & transformer as well as the backglass. My problem with "just parting it out" was both the cabinet & playfield were in much better than average condition.

After a year of watching I bought a "junk" Globetrotters last year for the boards & parts off the top of the playfield and drove over 6 hours to pick it up. Yesterday I drove 520 miles to overpay for a decent backglass for the machine. Without considering my time I have about $1200 invested in that machine now and I am selling it for $1250. $50 for over 700 miles of driving - fully shopping a machine - reworking boards & adding LED displays makes ZERO financial sense but I did it to save a nice machine.

Once a machine is parted out it is gone forever - save the ones worth saving - and part out the ones that are just to far gone to save is what is best for the hobby. Sometimes not the best for the wallet but in the long run saving a machine is worth it. With all that said I seriously doubt you would come out ahead parting this machine out. Give someone a deal & move on to the next machine if you don't want to fix it! Good karma will pay off in the end!

Great story. Globetrotters is a fantastic 80's Bally game.

My son does all my board work and he is constantly "pissed" at me for saving games he doesn't want to deal with but so far this year I have saved over a half dozen Classic Bally / Stern / and Williams titles that would have become parts if most people had purchased them.

Titles include:
Two - Stern Magic's
Bally Globetrotters
Williams Pokerino
Stern Dracula
Stern Gallaxy
Williams Flash

All these machine had most major stuff cut out of them - most were missing all boards & displays and some were even missing harnesses. With a lot of digging, begging, and help from the pinball community all these machines will live on. Every one was "suppose" to be a "parts machine" and in the end I'll be lucky to break even on any of them but at least they have all be saved to be enjoyed for years to come!

I buy 25 to 50 "parts machines" every year and I part out dozens of machines helping other machines live on. But I will never part out a machine nice enough to save regardless if I lose or make money by saving it. In the end enough of this machines have ended up in landfills already so we all need to save what can be saved.
